2 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Jason Adam blew the save and was hit with the loss in the 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night. In his inning of work, Adam allowed two earned runs on two hits (one homer) while walking one and striking out one. He entered the game in the eighth inning with a one-run lead but allowed a two-run bomb to shortstop Bo Bichette to lose the game. It was a hiccup in an otherwise excellent season for the 31-year-old right-hander, as he's posted a 1.54 ERA (2.83 FIP), a 0.69 WHIP, eight saves and 71 strikeouts in 58 1/3 relief innings for the Rays. He should continue to be Tampa's top setup man behind Pete Fairbanks despite Monday's subpar outing.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
