Agenda

  1. Game of Inches
  2. Today's Weather and Updates
  3. Tomorrow's Picks

1. Game of Inches

Clayton Kershaw's return from the disabled list lasted all of five innings before he exited with a balky back. This latest malady will likely cost him another month of the season. Odds are you that if you entered the draft wanting to land one of the true-blue aces (Kershaw, Max Scherzer, Corey Kluber, and Chris Sale), you'd have been happy to have any of them. Kershaw is the only one who hasn't delivered, and those of us who took him instead of one of the others are in much worse shape for it.

2. Today's Weather and Updates - Saturday, June 2

Thunderstorms in Atlanta will threaten Nationals-Braves. The odds of precipitation do decrease substantially as the evening wears on, so if the grounds crew can get the field into playable condition, the game might suffer an extended delay rather than outright postponement. All other games will proceed unimpeded by meteorological concerns.

3. Streamer Picks - Sunday, June 3

Pitchers to Use

Nick Kingham will make a second consecutive start in place of the injured Ivan Nova against the Cardinals. Kingham hasn't looked as impressive in his past three turns as he did in his debut against this very same St. Louis squad, but he's still pitched to a 3.28 SIERA with 25 strikeouts and just four walks in 24 innings.

Tyler Skaggs' last appearance didn't go well, but it was also just the third time in 11 starts that he'd allowed more than two runs. He's roughly a coin flip to be available in your league and will be going against a Rangers club that has struggled against southpaws.

Other Targets: Matt Koch, Brent Suter

Pitchers to Exploit

It's a battle of disappointing 25-year-old hurlers in Toronto, as Aaron Sanchez and Michael Fulmer face off. Sanchez has allowed 11 runs over his last 14 innings, while Fulmer has given up 15 runs in his last 20 frames.

Alex Cobb vs. Domingo German in Camden Yards should also feature some offensive fireworks, as both pitchers have struggled to keep the ball in the park all season.

Other Targets: Felix Hernandez, Dan Straily

Homers on the Wire

Brandon Nimmo is one of the most popular adds in fantasy baseball this week, and that status is well-deserved. He entered play on Saturday having gone deep five times in his past 10 contests.

Other Targets: Yairo Munoz, Jorge Soler, Jeimer CandelarioTeoscar Hernandez, Yonder AlonsoMax KeplerMark Canha, Adam Duvall, Pedro Alvarez, Matt Chapman, Max MuncyNick Williams

Steals on the Wire

You'll want to make sure they're actually starting before plugging them in, but both Harrison Bader and Ben Gamel are good under-the-radar speed plays and widely available on the waiver wire. Gamel in particular is unowned in almost every league, and he's swiped three bags in his last seven games.

Other Targets: Brandon Nimmo, Travis Jankowski, Jarrod DysonNiko Goodrum, Jose Peraza, Jonathan Villar, Delino DeShieldsAaron HicksJaCoby Jones, Mallex Smith
