6 years agoAthletes will always have to deal with the inevitably of aging. Some players quickly find themselves over the hill, while others age gracefully and compete for a very long time at the highest level. Phil Mickelson, without a doubt, falls into the latter category. The 48-year-old has been a steady presence on tour all season, providing three-top 10 finishes, including a win at the WGC Mexico Championship in March. However, regardless of how good Lefty currently looks, there comes a time in every athlete's career that their skills begin to diminish rapidly. We aren't there yet, but Mickelson will probably only have a handful of more opportunities to capture one last Major in his career. Mickelson won his only Open Championship title in 2013 and was the runner-up finisher in one of the greatest head-to-head battles we have ever seen, losing to Stenson in 2016. We think there are too many potential landmines for Mickelson at Carnoustie but with father time knocking on the door, Mickelson will give it all he has.--Spencer Aguiar - RotoBaller
