6 years agoAthletes will always have to deal with the inevitably of aging. Some players quickly find themselves over the hill, while others age gracefully and compete for a very long time at the highest level. Phil Mickelson, without a doubt, falls into the latter category. The 48-year-old has been a steady presence on tour all season, providing three-top 10 finishes, including a win at the WGC Mexico Championship in March. However, regardless of how good Lefty currently looks, there comes a time in every athlete's career that their skills begin to diminish rapidly. We aren't there yet, but Mickelson will probably only have a handful of more opportunities to capture one last Major in his career. Mickelson won his only Open Championship title in 2013 and was the runner-up finisher in one of the greatest head-to-head battles we have ever seen, losing to Stenson in 2016.
