6 years agoJordan Spieth fired a six-under par 65 at Carnoustie, catapulting himself into a three-way tie for first. Spieth, who has had a frustrating season on tour, would become the youngest player in over a century to defend their Open title successfully. If Spieth is to get it done, he will have to hold off a slew of notable names on Sunday, including the likes of Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and Tommy Fleetwood. Despite the young American being the overnight favorite to capture the title, winds are projected to be intense, and it is still a wide-open tournament for who will hoist the Claret Jug.
