We have an 11-game slate to look at tonight and we are starting to get a few games into the season, so we should be able to start looking at some more stats soon. Personally, I like Corsi For, which is an advanced shot metric shot which can help identify offensive opportunity.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 11/3/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider
Connor McDavid - C, EDM @ DET (FD - $9,300, DK - $8,300)
A few things are true here, one, McDavid is the best player in the NHL and two, he is up against the Red Wings, who are one of the worst teams in the league. If you are rolling out one lineup tonight or 50 lineups tonight, you should be looking to lock McDavid into your lineup. He has 19 points in 12 games this season and brings a 17 Corsi For along with him. That means he is generating a ton of chances at even strength. Chances mean shots, which can lead to goals, all of which are valuable points.
Evander Kane - W, SJ vs PHI (FD - $6,500, DK - $5,600)
Kane is a bit too cheap today, especially on DraftKings so look for him over there. He has been put on the third line which isn't great, but he is still seeing time on the second power-play unit. That provides plenty of upside for him in this matchup since he is facing off against the Flyers, who are giving up 3.8 goals per game. Not my favorite cash game play, but using him in a stack tonight certainly has its advantages.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Justin Faulk - D, CAR @ VGK (FD - $4,800, DK - $4,900)
The Hurricanes are solid this season and even better from a fantasy perspective since they love to take a ton of shots. Faulk is seeing time on the second defensive pairing and the first power-play unit, so the ice time is there for him to reach value. The matchup actually is better than it looks since they are on the road against a Vegas team who is struggling right in all aspects of the game.
Kris Letang - D, PIT vs TOR (FD - $6,200, DK - $6,400)
Letang and the Penguins have stumbled over the past two games and now they find themselves at home in a game where they over-under is set at six goals, which is high. Love that Letang is up on the first power-play unit, which gets you exposure to Crosby and Malkin. He is blocking over one shot per game and is taking over three shots per game. That is a super safe floor of points, which can only grow with his offensive upside.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Martin Jones - G, SJ vs PHI (FD - $8,400, DK - $8,400)
Jones comes in as a -165 favorite at home and should be one of the safer options when it comes to cash games tonight. He has won four of his last five games but has over 30 saves only one time in that span. His upside might be limited due to the lack of potential points in a given game, but with him likley to come away with the win, he is in a prime spot.
