FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (2/28/19): Daily Fantasy Hockey

We have a seven-game slate tonight where there are many teams in action who made moves at

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 2/28/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Connor McDavid - C, EDM @ OTT (FD - $8,800, DK - $7,900)

McDavid returned from his two-game suspension last night and was able to post only one point but we should be expecting much more than that tonight. He is facing off against the Senators who are dead last in the league when it comes it Corsi Against, meaning they are giving up an insane amount of shot attempts every game. The number of shots they give up every game provides McDavid with a super safe floor of points which is something you should be looking at for cash games. The Senators are also allowing the fifth most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes this season, which is where a ceiling of points comes from. McDavid naturally brings plenty of multi-point upside on his won, which should be in full effect tonight versus the weak defense.

Josh Anderson - W, CLS vs PHI (FD - $5,100, DK - $5,100)

Anderson is very affordable on both sites tonight and comes in with four points in his last five games along with 11 shots in that same span. He is playing on the third forward line and the second power-play unit, both of which, make solid stacking options tonight since their matchup against the Flyers is very soft. Philadelphia comes in with a 49 Corsi Against over the past month and with how cheap a second power-play stack is, they make a fantastic GPP option since you can pair them with a much more expensive stack.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Ben Hutton - D, VAN @ ARI (FD - $3,800, DK - $3,500)

Hutton is very cheap across the industry and is playing on the top power-play unit for the Canucks, who are on the road but only slight underdogs at +120 against the Coyotes. He has no points in his last five games but comes in with seven shots and 10 blocked shots. That is some great point per dollar value out of a player who is under 4K on both sites and brings much-needed salary relief on a seven-game slate. The Coyotes have the ninth worst Corsi Against since the start of this month while allowing a league average in the number of high-danger scoring chances per game.

Shea Theodore - D, VGK vs FLA (FD - $4,300, DK - $4,600)

Theodore is on the second forward line and the second power-play unit for the Golden Knights who come in as -204 home favorites, which is the largest of any team on the slate. He has posted only two points in his last five games, but a whopping 15 shots and 10 blocked shots. He finds a way to reach value nearly every single night since he is able to contribute to several stat categories, which should put him in cash game consideration tonight.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Tuukka Rask - G, BOS vs TB (FD - $8,800, DK - $7,700)

Rask and the Bruins are at home against the best team in the league the Tampa Bay Lightning who are on the second night of a back to back. This has Rask only coming in as a -115 favorite in what should be a very playoff-esque game between these two teams, which makes Rask a GPP option only. The win here is going to be a tough one, but not out of the question and should be a lower scoring game since three of the last four matchups between them have hit the under. Rask is on form right now with six wins in his last seven games, while allowing three or fewer goals in five of those games.
