Shelby Miller Struggles In Season Debut
6 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Shelby Miller struggled in his Rangers debut against the Houston Astros on Tuesday. Taking the mound for the first time in the 2019 regular season, Miller was only able to get through 3 2/3 innings before being pulled from the game. Miller was fortunate to only give up two earned runs, as he gave up five hits and walked five Astros hitters. This was not a great start for Miller, but it was also only his fifth regular season start since returning from Tommy John surgery, so hopefully there is improvement to come. Miller's next start is somewhat interesting for streaming purposes. He takes the mound Sunday on the road against an Angels team that enters Wednesday with a combined .178 batting average and .241 slugging percentage.
