J.J. Nelson Shows Big-Play Ability Versus Rams
5 years agoOakland Raiders wide receiver J.J. Nelson made an incredible 38-yard catch from the hands of second-string quarterback Mike Glennon on Saturday, setting up the team's first score of the game. With a defender hanging off of him, Nelson hauled in the reception on a very challenging play as he made his case for a starting role on the offense this season. He finished the night with two catches for 43 yards, all on his only drive of the game, on a night where starters were scarce for both squads. The 27-year-old has drawn praise from the coaching staff regarding his speed, but won't have much of a role this season unless Tyrell Williams or Antonio Brown were to miss time. Nelson has shown big-play ability throughout his years with the Cardinals, although without much consistency, and can't be counted on in season-long fantasy leagues.
