Antonio Brown Facing Uphill Battle Against League
5 years agoOakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown's ongoing helmet fiasco is looking more and more like a battle he won't win. NFL PR employee Brian McCarthy noted "the player can't practice or play in games with equipment that's not approved. If he doesn't play or practice, he is in breach of his contract and doesn't get paid." This certainly seems like a firm stance that the league upholds and will not make an exception for one individual player. Whether Brown is bluffing about quitting if he is unable to wear his 10-year-old helmet truly remains to be seen, but his early-season antics are a red flag for a player known to quit on a team before. The 31-year-old is undoubtedly one of the most talented players in the game, but managers may want to fade him in drafts and go with a player who will create fewer headaches.
