5 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers kept both quarterbacks CJ Beathard and Nick Mullens on the 53-man roster. It’s undecided who will be primary backup to starter Jimmy Garoppolo. Beathard was the team’s third-round pick in 2017 and has a 74.6 career rating in 13 games. Mullens, an undrafted second-year pro, came out of nowhere last season to record a 90.8 rating and three unexpected victories over eight games. With Garoppolo returning from a torn ACL, it makes sense to roster three quarterbacks but only two will likely be active any given weekend. Neither Beathard or Mullens hold any fantasy value but the latter has been much more impressive.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
