FanDuel TNF DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy Football for Week 6

We have a very uneven matchup tonight between the healthy New England Patriots and the already terrible, also beat-up New York Football Giants. We're looking at just a 17-point spread, which will be interesting to watch how Danny Dimes keeps it that close. We'll be diving into the showdown slate, where there's plenty of money to be made on both sites.

In this article, I will be providing you with daily fantasy football picks in FanDuel for Thursday Night Football on October 10, 2019 (Week 6). These lineups can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel.

DFS Quarterbacks - Week 6 Picks

Tom Brady - NE (FD $16,000 / DK $11,800)

On most showdown slates, you want to avoid playing a quarterback in your captain spots. Running backs and wide receivers typically have more appeal, though I’m not sure that’s the case here. If the Patriots don’t let off the gas, the Giants pass defense is terrible and Brady could easily throw four touchdowns to four different receivers. The Patriots offense hasn’t looked crazy good yet, but Brady has still managed to eclipse 20 fantasy points in four of the first five weeks. Brady is worth considering at captain and close to a must-start in general.

Daniel Jones - NYG (FD $13,500 / DK $8,000)

Daniel Jones isn’t a terrible play tonight if you think the Giants will be playing from behind. While it’s true the Patriots have been great against the pass, they also haven’t been tested. After week one against Pittsburgh, the Patriots have faced Ryan Fitzpatrick, Luke Falk, Josh Allen, and Colt McCoy. Daniel Jones is going to throw for at least one touchdown through the air tonight and his ability to run the ball gives him a ton of upside. With the running back situation what it is, Jones is a guy I can get behind tonight in any format.

DFS Running Backs - Week 6 Picks

Sony Michel - NE (FD $12,500 / DK $7,600)

Sony Michel got back to his usual self last week, turning 19 touches into 123 yards and a score. The Giants are a similar matchup to the Redskins in that their offenses stink and they can’t stop any run outside the tackle. Michel will see another 15+ touches and there’s an argument to be made for the captain spot. Michel could easily find the end zone multiple times and eclipse 100 yards. The Patriots seem to have the ball on the one-yard line 50 times a game, so it’s safe to expect at least one score out of Michel.

Jonathan Hilliman - NYG (FD $8,000 / DK $5,800)

I’m going to take a hard pass on the beautiful Jon Hilliman and Elijhaa Penny running-back-by-committee. It’s possibly the saddest backfield this decade and they face-off with a stout Patriots defensive line that hasn’t allowed much at all on the ground. The Giants will be playing from behind all night and Jones will likely be hurried a ton, so if you think one of these guys catches five or six check-downs, it's not a terrible play with Engram out as the usual check-down target.

James White - NE (FD $11,000 DK / $6,800)

White has seen 30 targets through four games and got more involved on the ground last game in the blowout. We should see plenty of White tonight, and I can see playing him on DK with PPR scoring. The Giants won’t defend either of these guys well and it just comes down to how the Patriots end up attacking this defense.

DFS Wide Receivers - Week 6 Picks

Julian Edelman - NE (FD $13,500 / DK $10,400)

Both Edelman and Josh Gordon are officially listed as questionable to play. They both look on track to play, but it wouldn’t be surprising if one of these guys took a seat in what should be a blowout. If either one is out, the other jumps to the top of the board as close to a must-play. If both play, I prefer Edelman just slightly. He’s been targeted more by Brady and is seeing more looks in the red zone. With that being said, I have even exposure to both as I think the ownership will be higher on Edelman and there’s an easy path to Gordon catching two scores against this secondary. It’s all about where Brady decides to go with the ball.

Darius Slayton - (FD $8,500 / DK $6,000)

With Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram both out, this receiving core is rather barren. Golden Tate is the best talent, but the Patriots will have Gilmore on him and he’s not good enough to overcome that. I’ll instead look towards Darius Slayton, who won’t have as much attention from the Patriots but will from Daniel Jones. He’s caught most of his targets and has the speed to break one loose. If you take away the 20 targets to Shepard+Engram last week, Slayton has the second most on the team and just one less than Tate. Slayton is my favorite way to get value on the slate and he should be slightly lesser owned than Golden Tate.

Jakobi Meyers - (FD $5,500 / DK $4,800)

With Phillip Dorsett out, Jakobi Meyers should be expected to step up and will get at least five or six targets here. He’s cheap on both sites and I think most will go with the Giants receivers for value. Meyers has shown his ability and Brady knows he’s a trustworthy target. He’s one of my favorite ways to get value if you think the Giants have no hope on offense.

DFS Tight Ends - Week 6 Picks

Matt LaCosse - NE (FD $5,000 / DK $1,800)

Ryan Izzo is more of the pass-catching tight end, but he only played 20 of 73 snaps last week and saw half the targets of Matt LaCosse. LaCosse played in 73 of those snaps and caught one of four targets. One of these two could easily catch a short touchdown in this game, and I lean LaCosse on pure volume. He will also be in the game when a bootleg happens.

Rhett Ellison - NYG (FD $5,000 / DK $200)

If it comes down to playing Rhett Ellison, I don't want to play. It's pretty funny what DraftKings has done, pricing him at $200. In all seriousness, you're just hoping for a short touchdown here. He's basically free and you'll be looking at 5% ownership. He's getting at least a target in every game and with Engram out, that may go to three or four.

Defenses - Week 6 Picks

Patriots Defense

This isn't much of a debate. The Pats Defense has been great to start the year, and the already terrible Giants team is extremely beat up. All the Patriots really need is four or five sacks to pay off their price tag, which seems like a floor in this matchup. You know how crazy the ceiling is, and it’s always worth plugging the D into your captain spot in hoes for utter dominance.

Don't play the Giants Defense.
