The Monday slate only has four games, but there are some good offensive opportunities in the early games. Columbus visiting Toronto and Vegas visiting Philadelphia has the opportunity to be high-scoring, with both totals coming in at 6.5.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/21/19. The picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @Roto_Nate.

DFS Forwards to Consider
Paul Stastny - C, VGK vs PHI (FD - $5,300, DK - $5,100)
Stastny has excelled since being promoted to the second line with Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone, scoring all seven of his points in the last five games. Daily Fantasy hasn't accounted for his promotion as of yet, making him an excellent value play while centering the best second line in hockey. He will also play on the team's first power-play line, creating a much cheaper stacking option than the Leafs.
Mitch Marner - W, TOR vs CBJ (FD - $7,900, DK - $7,300)
An injury to John Tavares seemed like the Mitch Marner fantasy stock would plummet for a few weeks, as he would be forced to lead the second line by himself. To the surprise of everyone, Mike Babcock stepped out of his comfort zone and placed Marner on the first line with Auston Matthews and Andreas Johnsson. Marner managed to tally two assists against a defensive-juggernaut in Boston, so a date with the Columbus Blue Jackets could mean trouble for the Blue Jackets in tonight's game. If you can find the salary relief, consider stacking him with Matthews.
Also, Consider:
- If you're looking for some value with tonight's high-priced options, Vladislav Namestinkov (FD $5,100, DK $4,600) has a good matchup tonight against the Dallas Stars. Namestinkov has five points over his last five games and has seen his ice-time rise from 11 minutes a game at the start of the season to 18-21 minutes over that five-game stretch.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Morgan Rielly - D, TOR vs CBJ (FD - $6,500, DK - $6,700)
Rielly had a huge game against the Bruins on Saturday night, scoring two goals including the overtime winner. He has consistently played 23+ minutes but has scored his points in bunches, including a four-assist game against the Minnesota Wild. If the Wild game tells you anything, Rielly can put up points against bad teams, and we have another one here in the Blue Jackets. If a Matthews/Marner stack is too rich for your blood, add Rielly in your lineups with Marner to have a cheaper version of the Leafs PP1 stack.
Nikita Zaitsev - D, OTT vs DAL (FD - $3,700, DK - $4,500)
On small slates, it can be hard to find value, but we have a higher floor player in Zaitsev at a bare-minimum price. While Zaitsev hasn't been lighting the world on fire in the points department, he has consistently contributed blocked shots to his fantasy totals. On FanDuel, despite only having two assists, he has been averaging 10.28 fantasy points per game. If you're going for the Marner/Matthews stack, having Zaitsev in your lineup would help the salary situation.
DFS Goalie to Consider
Frederik Andersen - G, TOR vs CBJ (FD - $8,800, DK - $8,400)
Andersen has the highest win probability on the slate and is coming off a 43 save performance against the Bruins. The Leafs goaltending was a question mark coming into Saturday night, but Andersen silenced the critics to steal a win. Be careful of who is starting, as Babcock may opt to go with Michael Hutchinson to keep Andersen fresh for Tuesday night's rematch with the Bruins. Even with the Blue Jackets lack of depth, I would be hesitant to roster Hutchinson if he gets the start.
