The fact that he has been ruled out well in advance of tip-off likely indicates that this ailment could potentially cost the second-year guard more games. Allen has scuffled from the field through his first five contests with Memphis — 31.4 percent shooting overall — but he has attempted to establish himself as a key bench cog. His next chance to take the floor comes Friday versus Orlando.
