FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (2/6/20): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Thursday features a big twelve game slate with Colorado in Ottawa, Nashville in Calgary, and a gong show clash between New Jersey and Philadelphia.

Remember, when looking around for plays, an over/under of 6 dictates offense, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. There are several games at 6.5, as that has become the new norm in hockey now.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 2/6/20. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @ChrisWasselDFS. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Jack Eichel - C, BUF vs DET (FD - $8,400, DK - $8,400)

Detroit's road penalty kill is below 73% and 70% over the past ten games away from home. The Red Wings allow 4.23 goals per game on the road and 36 shots per 60. Though Buffalo is equally bad of late, this game has the look of some top-line scoring rising to the forefront. That includes Eichel and he is only the third-highest priced player on the slate. There are enough stacking options with the Sabres as well. Look to Dylan Larkin and Detroit's top line/power play as a contrarian stack.

Max Pacioretty - W, VGK vs FLA (FD - $7,100, DK - $7,000)

The winger gets shots on net to the tune of over four per contest. Over the previous ten games, Pacioretty has averaged six shots a game on the net! It is only a matter of time before the goals come in bunches. Three goals on 60 shots is a 5% shooting percentage. His season percentage was double that just a few weeks ago. Florida has a huge void down the middle without Aleksander Barkov again. It may be wise to take another shot here.

Also, Consider:

  • Leon Draisaitl is listed as a C on DraftKings and no Aleksander Barkov tonight for Florida (he will be back on Saturday). This is a solid enough night to look at a Sean Couturier-Travis Konecny pairing of sorts.
  • Taylor Hall becomes an excellent option on Thursday but David Perron is one at home versus Winnipeg too.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Jeff Petry - D, MTL vs ANH (FD - $4,700, DK - $5,100)

This is a good choice and play because Shea Weber is hurt once again. Weber will be on the Injured Reserve for at least 7-10 days so this will be a repeated play. Petry's floor is too high and has shown a past ability to excel in the power play first-unit role. Playing 25+ minutes against an Anaheim team that allows a ton of scoring chances should be advantageous to his bottom line. Petry can be used in both cash and GPP formats.

Ryan Pulock - D, NYI vs LAK (FD - $4,800, DK - $5,000)

Pulock has seen his floor improve over the past ten games. He has 23 shots on net in that span and quite a few assists with several posts hit. The increased shot volume is nice but now he is averaging nearly 2 blocks a game too. That combined floor of around 4 shots and blocked shots per night is an improvement. If Pulock could just score a goal, that would do wonders for his confidence and DFS aspirations going forward.

  • Simply Filip Hronek going up against Buffalo's penalty kill is a value play that needs to be explored.
  • Ben Chiarot is getting top minutes with a good floor. Thomas Chabot has to be considered also along with Oskar Klefbom.
  • Yes, Quinn Hughes is on our radar again versus Minnesota. Also, see who is on Philadelphia's top power-play unit from the blueline.

DFS Goalie to Consider

Jonas Johansson - G, BUF vs DET  (FD - $7,200, DK - $8,400)

This is a Fanduel play only because of DraftKings' venue pricing. The best bet here is to play Johansson because he has one of the higher probabilities for a win on the night. Save wise expect something in the 25-30 range. So, the DraftKings bonus will not be in play. There are several DraftKings options on the slate including Brian Elliott who is $200 less than Johansson despite a nice record of late against New Jersey.

  • The other good GPP choice on Thursday night could be Sergei Bobrovsky again. Bobrovsky stopped 44 of 45 shots against Columbus over the weekend and was the team's best player by far and away without Aleksander Barkov in the lineup. He expects to see around 35 shots or more again.
