Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - MLB Hitter, Pitcher Lineup Picks for Monday 8/3

It sure has been a chaotic start to the shortened season, with several games postponed over the past week. We need to pay close attention to potential streamers to get a step up on our competition.

When choosing my daily hitter streamers, I examine their platoon splits, lineup position, and pitching matchup. With pitchers, I account for the opposing lineup, team ballpark, and recent performance to help make my decision.

Each of my streamers will be rostered in between 0-40% of Yahoo leagues, with a mixed focus on both shallow and deeper formats. Let’s take a look at the Monday slate and dig out some streamer gems to help you start the week off on the right track.

Hitter Streamers for 8/3

Donovan Solano (2B, SS, SF, RHB) 24% Rostered

Donovan Solano has come out of nowhere and gotten off to a fantastic start, slashing an absurd .484/.500/.710. He's got a contact hitter who's able to consistently put the ball in play - only three strikeouts in 33 plate appearances this season. Solano has alternated between the third and sixth slot in the lineup for the past four games. We need to ride this hot streak as he gets to go to Coors Field and take on Chi Chi Gonzalez. Hop on this train and let's hope that it keeps chugging along!

J.P. Crawford (SS, SEA, LHB) - 20% Rostered

Matchup: vs. OAK RHP Daniel Mengden

J.P. Crawford is off to a strong start, slashing .333/.455/.472 with 10 runs, four RBI, and two stolen bases. The former Phillies' top prospect has hit leadoff for the past five games for a Mariners' lineup that is swinging the bat well. Crawford was much better against righties last year, posting a .333 wOBA against them (compared to a .216 wOBA vs. lefties). He has a tough matchup against Frankie Montas, but the good news is that the A's have limited Montas to 80 pitches in each of his first two outings. We'll still go with Crawford here.

Kyle Seager (3B, CHC, LHB) - 17% Rostered

Matchup: vs. OAK RHP Daniel Mengden

Let's go back to the well and stream another Mariner in Kyle Seager. The veteran third baseman is seeing the ball well this year, posting a 10.0 BB% and 7.5 K% in 40 plate appearances. Seager has hit in the cleanup spot for seven games in a row, so he's in a prime spot for production. You'd be hard-pressed to find another cleanup hitter in a streaking lineup for this low roster percentage, so Seager is a great choice.

Brandon Belt (1B, OF, SF, LHB) - 3% Rostered

Matchup: vs. COL RHP Chi Chi Gonzalez

Brandon Belt returned from injury on July 30th and he's seeing the ball well with five walks in 10 plate appearances. Last season, Belt slashed .265/.358/.498 with 11 of his 17 home runs on the road against righties - now he gets to hit at Coors Field. Belt has also hit cleanup in both of his games this year, putting him in a great spot. We'll stream him here at Coors against a mediocre pitcher in Chi Chi Gonzalez.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/3

Danny Duffy (LHP, KC) vs. CHC 9% Rostered

Danny Duffy is showing improvement in his control so far, walking only one while striking out 10 in 9.1 innings this season. This is an encouraging development for a pitcher who posted an 8.3 BB% last season. Duffy takes on a Cubs team that might be without Kris Bryant. As a team, the Cubs have struck out often so far, posting a 25.7 K% heading into Sunday's game, which is tied for 25th in MLB. Duffy has a chance to rack up some strikeouts here.

Alec Mills (RHP, CHC) vs. KC - 6% Rostered

Alec Mills shut down the Reds on the road in his debut start, pitching six innings of two-run ball while scattering three hits for two earned runs. He walked two and struck out three in an impressive performance against a tough lineup. Mills is a soft-tossing pitcher who relies on his sinker to induce groundballs - he got the Reds to groundout 10 times in his first start. He has a good matchup at home against a Royals' offense that has averaged 2.9 runs per game this season. Go with Mills here.
