4 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Darwinzon Hernandez (COVID) has continued to throw at the team’s alternate site and is getting stretched out to throw multiple innings. There’s no word for sure if they want him to start games in Beantown this season, but they could certainly use an upgrade to their starting staff. Hernandez was a late arrival to summer camp after testing positive for COVID-19, and is likely a couple weeks away if he’s going to join the club as a starter. The lefty made just one start in 29 appearances a year ago, but he impressed as a reliver striking out 57 batters in 30 1/3 IP. Managers should monitor Hernandez’s status over the next couple of weeks since he’s worth adding once active.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
