4 years agoThe San Diego Padres have acquired catcher Jason Castro from the Los Angeles Angels for reliever Gerardo Reyes. Part of a flurry of deals by San Diego ahead of the trade deadline, Castro will share time with Austin Hedges as a left-handed bat at the Friars weakest offensive position. The 33-year-old is slashing just .192/.323/.385 in 62 plate appearances with two homers but his plate discipline and defense will be an upgrade to current backup Luis Torrens. Not an option in single catcher redraft leagues, Castro is just a DFS flier when he plays.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
