FanDuel Quarterbacks - Week 14 Picks
Aaron Rodgers, QB - @ DET ($9,100)
Rodgers is playing better than ever and has built a legitimate MVP case for himself as he heads toward age 40. He has thrown at least three touchdowns in all but three games this season and has tossed less than two touchdowns just once.
The 37-year-old has made a career out of beating the snot out of the Lions. In 21 career meetings, Rodgers has 43 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. He also has completed 64 percent of his passes during the span and has maintained a 104.8 passer rating. What more do you need to know?
Taysom Hill, QB - @ PHI ($7,700)
Brees could return in Week 14 after missing some time with broken ribs and a collapsed lung. However, that doesn’t appear to be likely, leaving Hill to remain the team’s starting signal-caller. Hill has played extraordinarily well since taking over under center for the future Hall of Famer, throwing two touchdowns and accumulating four scores on the ground over his previous three starts.
Although the Eagles Defense has held its own against opposing quarterbacks this year, Philadelphia has shown weakness stopping the run, which may ultimately open the door for the former BYU product to finish as one of the week’s top fantasy performers.
FanDuel Running Backs - Week 14 Picks
Derrick Henry, RB - @ JAX ($9,600)
Henry’s name has been popping up in fantasy columns throughout the week. As most leagues enter the postseason, the veteran has been pegged to be a season-saver for many fantasy managers across the globe.
He has a favorable history against the Jaguars, with Henry rushing for 238 yards and four touchdowns against Jacksonville a few years back. Since we are in December, this is usually his time to shine and pick up the pace. For a Titans team that is struggling, an uptick in production is needed now more than ever.
James Robinson, RB - vs. TEN ($8,000)
Robinson has been battling an injured knee, but since he has managed to log back-to-back limited practices, it appears as if he is good to go for Week 14 against the Titans. The rookie has been on a roll this season, and surprisingly, he ranks only behind Dalvin Cook and Derrick Henry in rushing yards.
With Gardner Minshew II out of the lineup with a thumb injury, Robinson has been getting plenty of work. In his last six outings, the 22-year-old has logged at least 17 carries. He also has a touchdown four times during that span and has remained involved on the receiving end, which only further adds to his appeal.
Austin Ekeler, RB - vs. ATL ($7,500)
Ekeler missed a significant portion of the year with a knee injury but made his way back against the Bills a few weeks ago. In that return game against Buffalo, the 25-year-old had 14 carries for 44 yards. He made his biggest mark on the receiving end, nonetheless, catching 11 of his 16 targets for 85 yards.
However, last week against the mad scientist Bill Belichick and the Patriots, the 25-year-old regressed by posting only 36 yards off eight carries to go along with just four catches for 32 yards. At such a discounted rostering cost, Ekeler is a guy who has the ceiling to turn any lineup into a winner while also allowing fantasy managers to save a few pennies in the process.
FanDuel Wide Receivers - Week 14 Picks
Davante Adams, WR - @ DET ($9,600)
With so many discounted options across the board in Week 14, fantasy managers should be able to afford Adams’ steep DFS asking price. The 27-year-old has remained relatively healthy this season and has emerged as arguably the top wideout in the league. Last weekend against the Eagles, Adams had 10 catches off 12 targets for 131 yards and two trips to the end zone. He has also scored at least once in all but two of his appearances on the year.
The veteran has a chance to make up for his shoddy performance against the Lions earlier in the season, a game where he hauled in just three catches before exiting prematurely with a hamstring injury. It is no secret that Detroit has had its share of struggles on the defensive end, ranking as the second-worst team against opposing receivers over the previous month.
Tyreek Hill, WR - @ MIA ($9,000)
Everyone remembers their first kiss, watching the birth of their child, and the feeling of witnessing Hill have one of the most historic fantasy performances of all-time. Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the speedster caught 13 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns, which puts him in the same category with the likes of Clinton Portis, Jamaal Charles, and Jimmy Smith, players who have all been responsible for some impressive fantasy outings over the years.
Although the Dolphins have won games in 2020 relying solely on its defensive prowess, Hill has momentum going for him, so fantasy managers should consider riding the hot-hand in Week 14.
FanDuel Tight Ends - Week 14 Picks
Travis Kelce, WR - @ MIA ($8,200)
Kelce has been the most consistent option at the tight end position this season. Some fantasy managers will naturally gravitate toward Darren Waller, primarily after his 13-catch, two-touchdown performance against the Jets last weekend. Although Waller has the potential from week-to-week to put up some numbers, he has been hit-or-miss this year, making him a risky play against a semi-potent Colts Defense.
On the other hand, Kelce has at least seven targets in all but two games during the year. He will be coming off one of his most stellar performances of the season against the Broncos in Week 14.
