FanDuel NFL DFS Lineup Picks for Super Bowl LV

We are finally closing in on the biggest day of the 2020-2021 NFL season as Super Bowl LV is set for Sunday night. This year we have a really compelling matchup as the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs are set to defend their title against the upstart Tampa Bay Bucs. It's Brady vs. Mahomes in a battle of the NFL past and future!

The Chiefs are the favorite here, and for good reason. They lost only one game this season and despite having a few close calls, they've managed to stave off everyone's best shot on their way to try and repeat as champs. They have arguably one of the best offenses we've seen in the modern NFL and the reigning MVP in Patrick Mahomes. But can their defense hold up against Brady and his bevy of receiving options? This game has a crazy high 56.5 point total, which is a record high for the Super Bowl and everyone is expecting some offensive fireworks. I like the Chiefs to win, but I do think the Bucs put up a fight and this ends up being an exciting game that comes down to the wire.

In this article, I will be providing you with my Super Bowl Sunday daily fantasy football lineup picks on FanDuel. These lineups can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on DraftKings. NFL DFS Super Bowl LV

Tampa Bay Bucs (+3.5) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (56.5 O/U)

FanDuel DFS Quarterbacks

Patrick Mahomes ($16,500)

Please, play Patrick Mahomes - just do it. There's not much analysis needed here, but I'll give it a shot anyway. First of all, he's really, really good (wow, really?) But, honestly, Mahomes' play hasn't dropped off a bit this year following his incredible play last year as the MVP. The Chiefs already want to pass the ball and this matchup against a stout Tampa run defense is going to necessitate that even further. Against a pass-funnel defense, we should get a ton of attempts from Mahomes and his mobility also gives him some nice rushing upside and a chance to run one in the end zone himself.

Tom Brady ($15,000)

Playing both QBs in single-game formats is usually a good idea, especially if you think the game is going to shoot out and this game certainly has that feel. Making them fit in the same lineup isn't going to be easy, though, and you're going to have to play some iffy values to do it. So if you decide to go Brady over Mahomes, it's because you think the Chiefs play from in front and Brady has to play catch up. You're hoping for a few KC rushing TDs and for Brady to outscore Mahomes by throwing more TDs or maybe sneaking one in on his own. He will certainly be lower owned than Mahomes and is a solid pivot for larger-field tournaments.

FanDuel DFS Running Backs

Leonard Fournette ($12,500)

Fournette has seemingly taken over as the lead back with Ronald Jones being relatively ineffective in the postseason. Yes, Jones still got a healthy share of touches last week but did nothing with them (10 carries for 16 yards) and is a non-factor in the passing game. Meanwhile, Fournette has scored a touchdown in all three of the Bucs' postseason games and is the passing-down back as well. With this game projecting to be high-scoring and the likelihood of Tampa having to pass more than run, I like Fournette's chances of being the more productive back for the Bucs here.

Darrel Williams ($9,000)

Both Williams and CEH managed to get in the end zone in the AFC Championship, but it was Williams who outgained (62-7) and out-touched (14-7) CEH as the more productive of the KC backs. I don't think you need to play a KC running back, but Williams is cheap and KC does a great job of using their backs in the passing game, too. If he scores a touchdown, he'll easily pay off this price tag and I'll let others chase CEH based on his name recognition and the fact that he was the lead back earlier this year.

FanDuel DFS Wide Receivers

Tyreek Hill ($14,000)

Hill might seem like an obvious play, but I'm willing to bet that Mahomes and Kelce come in at higher ownership. And not too many people will pay up for all three of the Chiefs' studs in their lineup because of how expensive they are. But Hill actually correlates the best with Mahomes and when he's gone off, he's broken slates with some huge performances this season. Kelce is the safer play, but Hill is a GPP-winning play if he breaks off some big gainers and you know Andy Reid is going to have some special gimmick plays scripted for him, too.

Chris Godwin ($12,000)

Godwin had the best correlation with Brady this season of all his passing options and was arguably the most reliable target for him in the TB passing game. While Mike Evans is pretty touchdown-dependent, Godwin has the ability to produce some big games even when he doesn't get in the end zone and we saw that play out in the NFC championship against the Packers. Even if Antonio Brown plays (which it's looking like he might), I still trust Godwin the most of Brady's weapons.

FanDuel DFS Tight Ends

Travis Kelce ($14,500)

This is a no-brainer, but Kelce should absolutely be in the majority of your lineups unless you want to get super creative and bold and fade him for his teammate Tyreek Hill. Tampa has allowed the 11th most points to tight ends this season and Kelce has just been a monster week in and week out. While it's possible to double-team wide receivers with bracket coverage, Kelce is a lot more of a challenge to stop as he's too athletic for linebackers and too big for corners or safeties. He and Mahomes have some of the best chemistry I've ever seen and Kelce knows exactly when to break off his routes and sit down in an open zone when Mahomes scrambles.

FanDuel DFS Special Teams

I like both kickers in this game! Ryan Succop and Harrison Butker both had outstanding seasons and if we expect both offenses to move the ball, then both kickers should be in play as there should be some drives where they fail to get in the end zone. All it takes is a few field goals and a handful of extra points to pay off value at their prices.

Well, that's it, everyone! Good luck, RotoBallers, in your contests and I hope this slate turns out to be a profitable one for you!
