NBA DFS Prop Picks for Wednesday (2/24/21) - Monkey Knife Fight

Steph curry NBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball advice

With a nine-game slate Wednesday, the action picks up right where it left off. The last game of the night yesterday between the title-contending Clippers team, and a surging Wizards squad wasn't close, but enough points were scored that both teams star players were able to shine on the court and the box score. Looking at Pacers-Warriors, there's a similar narrative. The rising Warriors will face a tough Pacers team that plays up to their competition and lock down on defense.

As of right now, 2:30am CST, the highest point total of the night is the Pacers-Warriors contest, but there is no doubt that rank of highest projected scoring will shift towards the Minnesota Timberwolves and Chicago Bulls game. The pace of both teams is hard to pass up considering the scoring power and lack of defense, so be sure to stay updated as lines change.

MonkeyKnifeFight.com continues to be ahead of the curve with their canceling of contests amid postponements, so don't worry about wasting money on a player or game that might not play. As always, you can find me in the NBA Chat Room or @HalfCourtJester on Twitter with any questions, especially since lines and players are subject to change throughout the day.

GSW @ IND

Stephen Curry (GSW) MORE 29.5 Points - Domantas Sabonis (IND) MORE 21.5 Points

Remember, this is Stephen Curry and every time a decision is made to go with the under, you know exactly what you are asking for. The Pacers have solid defenders who willingly sacrifice usage and offense for the sake of shutting down their opponent, if that's what is asked of them. Indiana has to know that shutting down Curry is priority number one, but that's easier said than done. The pace of this game will be on the faster side, and whenever that is the case, Curry thrives. It's hard to buy in on this defense when Curry is playing so well.

For Domantas Sabonis and facing the Warriors frontcourt, there's a decent chance he will be knocking around with Draymond Green in the paint for most of the time he's on the court. Even though it sounds intimidating, that's not enough defense to stop the advantage Sabonis has shown he has over most defenders.

HOU @ CLE

Collin Sexton (CLE) MORE 24.5 Points -  John Wall (HOU) MORE 24.5

Even though the Cavaliers played last night, Collin Sexton provided the game-winning assist to go along with 29 points on 16 shots. His efficiency was a bright spot and even if he can't repeat that exactly, the Rockets defense has been struggling recently. Houston has dropped from top five in defensive rating over the past 15 games, to the bottom 13 over the previous five games. It's no surprise given their roster right now, so until Victor Oladipo is back and playing a full workload, Wall can't carry the backcourt defense alone and Sexton only has to worry about Ja'Sean Tate in the paint.

The Rockets roster needs Wall to score and if there is a backcourt anyone can score against, it's the Cavaliers. Until anyone comes back that really demands offense, Wall is lined up for big games every night he is on the floor.

BOS @ ATL

Trae Young (ATL) MORE 28.5 Points - Jayson Tatum (BOS) MORE 28.5

This will be the third game between the Hawks and Celtics since February 17th, so the outcome of this game is really up for grabs. Both teams have had one game against each other, which they were carried by solid shooting and star power. Looking forward, it's hard to see the Hawks just letting Jayson Tatum score easy buckets, and the same can be said for the Celtics defense and Trae Young.

The only problem is, neither team has an answer for the opposing teams top scorer. The Celtics guards will struggle to keep up with Young, not to mention he has the ultimate security blanket that is the tandem of John Collins and Clint Capela in the paint. While Tatum has Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker for spacing, but he hasn't needed it against Cam Reddish and Tony Snell. Upside is there, even though both have had bag shooting nights in one of the two games.

TOR @ MIA

Fred Vanvleet (TOR) LESS 20.5 Points - Bam Adebayo (MIA) MORE 20.5

The Raptors offense is balanced, but without Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet and Norman Powell are the only two guards consistently looking to get shots up. Since the Heat backcourt likes to make things tough for opposing guards, it's hard to see VanVleet putting up tough shots over and over, when his teammates will find ways to get open. It's unlikely anyone on Toronto will be scoring 20 points against this defense, unless they are truly shooting the lights out.

For the Heat, Bam Adebayo is key to their offense, and even when he isn't scoring on his own, his teammates find ways to get him involved. Toronto's defense is good, but they are going to have a tough time dealing with everything Miami throws at them, especially when they are playing well and efficiently running the offense.
