I promised that I would be ramping up the college basketball coverage come March, and here we are! You'll be seeing a lot more from me. If the slate is relatively full like our nine-game offering here today, I'll be here! Oh, and when the conference tournaments start, you'll be plenty familiar with the players going into the NCAA tournament. There's lot's of money to be made there. Who's coming with me! In college basketball it's perfectly fine to ignore slow-paced games or teams with tough matchups on a large slate like this. Choosing a couple of spots wisely has been the key this year. Providence-St. John's is the only game over 150 tonight, but there are several in the 140's. Enough that it makes sense to scratch out the UConn-Seton Hall and Maryland-Northwestern slogs. If I play anyone from those games, it certainly wont be a high-priced player.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 3/3/21. DraftKings CBB DFS Guards
David Duke, Providence ($9,000)
Duke is the best Providence player in the only game that is pegged to go over 150. He put up 32 DraftKings points in the first game against St. John's. If he puts up that total tonight, I think we'll be a little disappointed. For that reason I'm not all-in on Duke. It is worth noting that he has gone over 40 DraftKings points in two of the last three games. In the game that he didn't, he was under 20. The moral of the story is that there is a lot of volatility here. Too much for me to want to spend this much on Duke, but he has the highest ceiling of any guard tonight.
Tre Mann, Florida ($7,900)
Missouri is a strong team, but they get involved in a lot of high-scoring affairs. They like to get out and run. That's perfect for Florida and for DFS picks from both sides in this game. Providence-St. John's still comes in higher, but not by much. As we saw last night, these implied totals aren't always right. The Iron Bowl of basketball came in way under the implied total. I don't think this one will. This seems about right at 147. The Kentucky and Auburn games that Florida just played came in well under the implied totals and Mann still cleared 30 DraftKings points with ease. He feels a bit underpriced here.
Jamal Mashburn Jr., Minnesota ($5,700)
Mashburn isn't quite the lights-out shooter that his father was, but he has come a long way this season. Once Minnesota worked him into the rotation, Mashburn has been almost as effective as Marcus Carr. He doesn't do all of the little things that Carr does yet, but he'll learn. Mashburn has played at least 35 minutes in four straight games. He went cold at Nebraska on Saturday, but I have no issues going back to him here. The price is still low for a guy that plays as many minutes and takes as many shots as Mashburn does. There is a lot of potential here for the price.
Tyree Appleby, Florida ($5,400)
Appleby is another guy that has been flying under the radar of late. He has at least 20 DraftKings points in a dozen straight games. That's nearly 5x value, which just doesn't happen in college! I understand that Missouri is a good team, but they can be had. Especially if you're willing to stretch the floor and run with them. That's what Vegas thinks will happen based on the over/under, so I'm not going to argue with that. Providence and St. John's are dominated by stars. Florida is dominated by guards. I like both of them at very reasonable prices tonight.
Also consider: Marcus Zegarowki, Creighton ($8,300); Johnny Juzang, UCLA ($6,600); Rasheem Dunn, St. John's ($5,600); Braxton Beverly, North Carolina State ($3,800)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards
Julian Champagnie, St. John's ($8,700)
The other Champagnie brother has been putting up numbers to rival the "better" one of late. Julian has had some quiet games this season, but Villanova is the only team to hold him under 30 DraftKings points since the end of January. On top of that, Champagnie dominated Providence to the tune of 45 DraftKings points in the first meeting this year. Champagnie is my favorite play on the slate, even if he doesn't quite have the upside of Duke or Marcus Carr.
Jericole Hellems, North Carolina State ($7,000)
I feel like this game is a sneaky spot to attack, particularly against Notre Dame. They have been awful against forwards all season and Hellems is coming off of a game in which he led the Wolfpack in points, rebounds, and assists in an upset win over Pitt. Hellems has been trending upward since the calendar flipped to 2021 anyway and he's taking the Wolfpack with him. There are at least two Wolfpack players that are too cheap for this matchup and the minutes they'll play in it. Don't underestimate just how bad Notre Dame's interior defense has been. This is a smash spot for Hellems.
Christian Bishop, Creighton ($6,000)
The Blue Jays have struggled some of late, in particular in a loss to Xavier over the weekend. Now they get another crack at a Villanova team that they beat by 16 on February 13. Bishop was a massive problem for the Wildcats in that game. He went for 36 DraftKings points in that one and is significantly cheaper than Damien Jefferson, who struggled a bit in that one. Bishop and maybe Mitch Ballock are the Creighton exposure that I'm really targeting tonight. The first meeting had a combined 156 points, but I don't see it going that high tonight. Creighton has been a little rusty after coming off a COVID layoff. I'll run with the cheap guys first.
Mark Smith, Missouri ($5,300)
Smith isn't quite the bargain that he was for the month of February, but he is still putting up strong numbers as a starter. Missouri is a well-balanced team, but I'm leaning towards the forwards tonight against Florida. I'm attacking this game with Florida guards and Missouri forwards. Fortunately for us, one of each group is priced low for their potential output. Smith is one of those. Tyree Appleby is for Florida.
