FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (5/8/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

After a massive slate on Friday, the schedule becomes a little lighter on Saturday evening. Washington and Indiana will meet again, and with that contest expected to feature plenty of points, fantasy managers should expect to see an abundance of fantasy production. For those looking for value, Houston and Toronto will have some fantastic options. However, which players to target will become clearer closer to opening tip as injuries get updated throughout the day.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/8/21. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out DraftKings lineup picks and injury news before lineups lock. Good luck, RotoBallers.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Russell Westbrook, PG - vs. IND ($12,000)

The Wizards will head to Indiana for a matchup against the Pacers in a game that should surely feature many of the night's top fantasy options. With a $12,000 rostering cost, Westbrook will need to make a ton of noise on the fantasy end to hit value. However, with this game expected to be the highest-scoring game on the slate, the former MVP may be up to the task.

Bradley Beal, SG - vs. IND ($9,000)

We will remain in Washington and throw Beal in the mix for an excellent one-two punch opportunity between him and Russell Westbrook. The veteran has racked up at least 40.5 fantasy points in each of his previous four games, including a 45-fantasy-point effort against the Pacers a few nights ago. His DFS asking price hasn’t increased that much, if at all, so fantasy managers should keep him on the radar.

Malachi Flynn, PG - vs. MEM ($5,300)

With the Raports looking toward next season, the team will keep some players out of the lineup for “injury management” purposes. Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry are included in the group, which means we will automatically pivot toward Flynn, who has played well when given a chance, averaging 12.7 points, 5.9 assists, and 1.2 steals throughout nine starts on the season,

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Domantas Sabonis, PF - vs. WSH ($10,600)

Since returning from a six-game absence due to a back injury, Sabonis has been on a roll. He has logged at least 46.6 fantasy points in each of his last four games, including dropping 71.3 fantasy points against Washington earlier in the week. If you aren’t looking to spend big cash on Russell Westbrook, Sabonis should be the next one on everyone’s mind. His stock will only increase more in Malcolm Brogdon can’t make it back from a bum hamstring.

Kent Bazemore, SF - vs. OKC ($5,500)

Bazemore has been logging a generous amount of minutes while Kelly Oubre Jr. remains out with a wrist ailment. The veteran is averaging nearly 27 fantasy points throughout his previous five contests. With the Warriors having one of the highest implied totals on the night, he is someone to target.

Rui Hachimura, SF - @ IND ($5,400)

The Wizards have been receiving some fantastic performances from Hachimura this season. He’s been sick and missed his last two games, but he will be back in the lineup against the Pacers on Saturday night. The sophomore has had his most productive outings against Indiana this year, averaging 26.5 points and 7.5 rebounds throughout two meetings against the club during the 2021 campaign.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Rudy Gobert, C - vs. HOU ($8,200)

Gobert has thrived without Mike Conley and Donovan Mitchell in the lineup. The 28-year-old has a chance to do some damage against a Rockets team that is one of the worst in the league against opposing big men, and his outlook is even more promising if Houston doesn’t have Christian Wood back on the floor.

Khem Birch, C - vs. MEM ($5,800)

Birch has been getting a ton of minutes while Chris Boucher has been out and has been making good use of them. The veteran is averaging 10 points, 7.1 boards, and 1.1 blocks throughout nine games in the starting lineup this season. However, those numbers could increase as he is slated to get a generous increase in +/- differential against the Grizzlies. While we know how effective Jonas Valanciunas is on the glass and the offensive end, he can get a little messy on the defensive side of the ball.
