4 years agoBrooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving (face) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Spurs due to the facial contusion that he sustained Tuesday. Brooklyn has very little incentive to put Irving on the floor if he is anything short of 100 percent with the postseason looming; Landry Shamet figures to see the largest workload increase without Irving available. Irving has continued his stellar scoring output to begin May, averaging 29.4 PPG over five contests. His next opportunity to get back into action comes Saturday versus Chicago.--Jesse Borek
