4 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize recorded the best start of his career on Monday night, striking out seven over 7 2/3 innings of work in a 4-1 victory over the Mariners. Mize's only mistake came on an eighth-inning home run by Tom Murphy, as he allowed just one run on three hits and three walks to improve to 3-3 on the year. He has looked good on the mound recently, as Monday marked his fourth consecutive quality start and he has allowed just seven runs over his last 25 2/3 innings of work. Mize looks like he could be trending in the right direction, as managers should begin to consider him a decent matchup-dependent streaming option.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
