DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (5/29/21): MLB DFS Lineups

Julio Urias fantasy baseball rankings MLB injury news DFS lineup picks

As per usual, the Saturday slates are a little sliced and diced on DraftKings. The early slate is the larger slate today. This will deal with the five game primetime slate. This is going to be another volatile slate because of lingering rain concerns in the east and some doubleheaders left over from yesterday's carnage.

There's no Coors and this slate could easily wind up as a four-gamer. Rain will be a concern throughout the day in D.C., and they are supposed to play two. Good luck with that! Rain could be an issue in New York again, but it looks like the game will play if they wait a bit. There is also a stiff breeze blowing in from right in New York, so that could chop some of Atlanta's lefty power.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/29/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also check out today's FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Julio Urias - LAD vs. SF ($10,000)

Urias racked up 31.7 DraftKings points on this team just six days ago thanks to his third double-digit strikeout game of the season already. Most of the Giants' best hitters are lefties, and lefties hit just .202 against Urias. He has dominated them even more this year, with lefties hitting just .147 in 68 at bats. It's easy to forget that Urias is just 24 years old. He has the ability to be dominant. There have been a couple of bumps along the way, but Urias has only given up four runs in his past three starts combined. The walks are down, the homers are down, and the strikeouts are still there. Don't get cute here. Get different with your SP2. You need Urias at the top.

Taijuan Walker - NYM vs. ATL ($8,600)

This is a way to get different. Most are going to run from Walker, or at the very least, use the opposing pitcher against him. Walker hasn't started since May 17th, a start that he left after three innings with soreness in his side. That was against Atlanta, and Walker put up a solid 10.2 DraftKings points in three innings. He gave up just one hit in those three innings. The strikeout total will never be as high as you would like, but Walker is checking all the boxes this year and the 3.85 xERA says this isn't all a fluke. The strikeout rate is the highest of his career and he's missing barrels. Add in the stiff breeze in from left, and Walker is an acceptable risk against a good offense.

Other Options: Ian Anderson ($9,400), Justin Dunn ($7,000), Mike Foltynewicz ($5,600)

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Tucker Barnhart - C, ARI vs. STL ($4,400)

Adam Wainwright has always had pronounced home/road splits, but the 8.56 road ERA is overboard even for him. The 4.25 career ERA in Chase Field is more in line with his career road splits, but until Waino straightens out this year's numbers, I'm going after him. Kelly is a good place to start this. Catcher is the weakest position on the slate and Kelly hits 39 points higher at home. That's good enough for me on a five-gamer.

Paul Goldschmidt - 1B, STL at ARI ($4,000)

Goldschmidt has always hit well at Chase Field. Just check the .289 average and 101 career homers here. He picked up 13 DraftKings points last night against a much better pitcher than the Snakes have going tonight. Seth Frankoff's 7.27 ERA is troubling, but getting blasted at Coors makes it seem much worse than it actually is. I won't be going full on Cardinals tonight, but Goldy deserves a spot on park history alone.

Max Muncy - 1B/2B, LAD vs. SF ($5,500)

Muncy has regained 2B eligibility on DraftKings again, and it's basically a cheat code. Sure, you have to pay for it, but on most slates, Muncy is far better than any other 2B out there. This is especially true on small slates. Muncy is the only current Dodger with a homer against Logan Webb and he hit a home run last night. Sign me up!

Eduardo Escobar - 3B, ARI vs. STL ($5,000)

Escobar has three homers in his last ten games and is averaging a solid 8.5 DraftKings points per game in that span. Escobar's launch angle, exit velocity, and hard hit percentage are all up in May, specifically in the last two weeks. This hot streak should continue, especially given Wainwright's horrible pitching on the road. This park is by far the best situation for hitters tonight. Let's take advantage!

Gavin Lux - SS, LAD vs. SF ($4,600)

Lux was underwhelming as a rookie last year, but a proper Spring Training and normal baseball season has helped him get back on track. He was one of the top position prospects in the Dodgers organization and he's starting to show why. Lux has a .333 average with two homers and 10 RBI with just eight strikeouts in the last ten games. The 9.1 DraftKings point average in that span highlights the high floor and that playing in this potent offense helps raise his numbers across the board, especially when he's hitting well to begin with.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Adolis Garcia - OF, TEX at SEA ($4,300)

Name recognition can get you a long ways in DFS. It can also drive the price up much higher than it should be. Take Garcia, for example. He has five homers and 11 RBI in his last six games. Can you imagine what the price would be on, say, Trout or Acuna if they were on a streak like this? If Garcia had the name recognition with this great matchup, he would be at least $2,000. Thanks DraftKings. I appreciate the discount price on the hottest hitter in the league right now.

Tyler O'Neill - OF, STL at ARI ($3,400)

That's two homers and four RBI in two games since returning from the IL. You won't be able to get O'Neill at this price much longer, so enjoy it while it lasts. Outfield is the place to go cheap tonight, especially with the discounts on O'Neill and others like him in favorable matchups.

Avisail Garcia - OF, MIL at WAS ($3,300)

I prefer targeting the dumpster fire known as Jon Lester in the first game of the doubleheader, but Corbin will do in a pinch. His ERA is still a ghastly 6.13. Garcia has always hit lefties well and he has two homers in the last four games. The Brewers also have him hitting in the middle of the order, so if the Brewers get to Corbin, Avi is going to be involved.

DraftKings DFS Stacks

  • Washington Nationals vs. Brett Anderson
  • Milwaukee Brewers vs. Patrick Corbin
  • Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Logan Webb
