MLB DFS Prop Picks for 7/18 - PrizePicks

whit merrifield fantasy baseball rankings draft sleepers MLB injury news

Hello everybody and welcome! The 2021 MLB season is alive and well and that means our new friends over at PrizePicks have a TON of great props we can look to take advantage of. PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.

Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best, and easiest to win, MLB DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.

PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props as well as hitter props in which you determine if the pitcher or hitter in question will go over or under their projected total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Today, we will look at some pitcher strikeout totals as well as some hitter fantasy point and single stat totals.

Single Stat and Fantasy Score MLBP and MLB Totals

J.A. Happ under 5.0 strikeouts - This number could be close considering the Tigers are posting a 24.7% K rate vs. left-handers over the previous 10 games, but they are also posting a 152 wRC+, so Happ could be in some serious trouble in this one and that is why I am looking at the under here. Happ has also failed to go over this total in six of his previous eight starts.

Whit Merrifield over 8.5 fantasy points -Merrifield gets a solid matchup against Matt Harvey and the Orioles' pen in this one. Harvey has allowed a 7.91 ERA and .277 BAA to right-handers hitters on the season while also allowing four stolen bases and five home runs. Merrifield has started hot after the break and is 4-for-8 with a double, four RBI, and two runs scored. He will also get to face an Orioles' pen that is posting the second-worst ERA over the previous 15 days and should be in line for a solid game today.

Trevor Story over 7.0 fantasy points - Story get to face left-hander, David Price in this one and Price has allowed a .303 BAA to right-handed hitters this season. Story has hit lefties to the tune of four bombs and a .788 OPS this season and has posted an .856 OPS and .300 average at Coors Field this season.

Jose Altuve over .5 runs + RBI - I know Altuve will have a tough matchup in this one against Carlos Rodon, but taking a solid leadoff hitter over .5 runs + RBI is something I will do under most circumstances. Altuve is hitting .316 with an .844 OPS against left-handed pitchers this season with five home runs, 15 RBI, and 26 runs scored across 114 at-bats. He has also posted an .839 OPS vs. Rodon in his career across 17 at-bats.
