Kyle Seager (3B, LHB, SEA) - 57% Rostered
Matchup: at TB RHP Michael Wacha
Seager is mashing right now, putting up six runs, four homers, and 10 RBI in the last seven days, giving him 22 homers on the season. He's been a fixture in the three or four-hole in the Mariners lineup, so there should be some opportunities for run production against Wacha. If you look at Seager's recent xwOBA (last 50 plate appearances) on Baseball Savant, you'll see that he's well above league average. This means that he's making great contact right now.
Alec Bohm (1B/3B, RHB, PHI) - 52% Rostered
Matchup: at WAS RHP Josiah Gray
Bohm came into the season with high expectations, but he's been disappointing, slashing .252/.309/.352 with only seven home runs in 95 games. However, he's starting to show signs of life. Bohm slashed .296/.387/.481 with three homers in July, so we could be in line for a strong second half. He's currently on a four-game hitting streak and has been bumped to the fifth and sixth spot in this Phillies lineup.
Nate Lowe (1B, LHB, TEX) - 44% Rostered
Matchup: vs. LAA TBD
Lowe has demonstrated solid on-base skills throughout the season, posting a .360 OBP or greater in three of the first four months. While he only has 12 home runs, he's been a fixture in the cleanup spot for this Rangers lineup. Lowe is currently on a five-game hitting streak with three runs, five RBI, and one steal. Perhaps this is the start of a hot streak with a young hitter taking on more of a run-producing role with Joey Gallo now with the Yankees.
Hitter Streamers for 8/2 - Deeper Leagues
Lorenzo Cain (OF, RHB, MIL) - 22% Rostered
Matchup: vs. PIT RHP Bryse Wilson
Cain has been an on-base machine over the last seven days, putting up a .476 OBP with five runs, six RBI, and one steal during that span. He's been bumped to the six-hole, which puts him in a better position for run production. Cain has a good matchup against Wilson, who is making his Pirates debut after posting a 5.88 ERA and 1.69 WHIP in 33.2 innings with the Braves.
Abraham Toro (3B, SHB, SEA) - 16% Rostered
Matchup: at TB RHP Michael Wacha
Toro has been scorching hot lately, putting up six runs, three homers, five RBI, and one steal in the last seven days. He's currently on a seven-game hitting streak and has been bumped to the five-spot with his new team in Seattle. Toro is slashing .500/.526/1.000 with two homers in five games with the Mariners. Toro makes for a nice pairing with teammate Seager, especially if you're playing DFS.
Rowdy Tellez (1B, LHB, MIL) - 14% Rostered
Matchup: vs. PIT RHP Bryse Wilson
Tellez has been a fantastic addition to the Brewers, slashing .326/.407/.630 with four homers in 18 games for his new team. He's been a fixture in the four or five spot, which gives him a great opportunity for run production. Tellez makes for a nice pairing with teammate Cain, especially since they hit close to each other in the lineup, which gives them strong correlation. A Brewers stack looks appealing in DFS today.
Pitcher Streamers for 8/2 - Shallow Leagues
Chris Flexen (RHP, SEA) - 42% Rostered
Matchup: at TB
Flexen is coming off a poor outing where he was rocked for seven runs in four innings against the Astros, but he had been a quality start machine prior to this performance, allowing three runs or fewer in eight previous starts. While he doesn't have high strikeout upside (15.5 K%), he should be able to turn in a quality outing against the Rays today. He's the best option for shallow leagues on today's slate.
Pitcher Streamers for 8/2 - Deep Leagues
Josiah Gray (RHP, WAS) - 28% Rostered
Matchup: vs. PHI
Gray makes his Nationals debut after being acquired by the team in the Trea Turner and Max Scherzer trade. Gray has prospect pedigree and looked sharp in two outings for the Dodgers, with 13 strikeouts in eight innings in his only two appearances. The Nationals rotation has become very thin, so Gray should be a fixture for the remainder of the season. The young righty deserves to stay on your team for the long haul.
