OwnersBox Pitcher Picks
On OwnersBox, you select two Pitchers, and need three games from these two pitchers. Any game you go over after the third, best ball mode is activated - meaning the lowest score is dropped. So a good approach is obviously looking for affordable two-start pitchers for the week with at least three solid matchups in mind.
Corbin Burnes, MIL ($39,000) - v NYM, at STL
There is no question at this point in 2021 that Corbin Burnes is always a great play. Over the last month among SP he resides in the top-five in K%, FIP, and xFIP. This week's matchups are quite tasty as he has already owned the Mets and Cardinals this season to the tune of a combined 1.63 ERA, 33.3 K%, and a 1.21 FIP through 27.2 innings.
Max Fried, ATL ($29,600) - at SDP, v PHI
Charlie Morton had a nice run, but Max Fried has been the best Braves pitcher over the last month. Over that span he boasts a 2.61 ERA, 25.8 K%, and a 3.08 xFIP. His last outing was a gem against the first place Giants in which he spun seven shut-out innings. Both the Padres and Phillies have been in the bottom third of the league against LHP in terms of wRC+ over the last 30 days.
OwnersBox Infielder Picks
The Infield is my favorite position on Ownersbox. You only need 28 games from the five players. Simple math tells you if you average six games per infielder, you are already at the two lowest scores dropped from the lot. That way you can utilize five-game studs as long as you pair them eventually with a seven-game player also to maintain that 30 total games. The Outfield is much more difficult to take advantage this way, so don't waste the opportunity with your infielders!
Brendan Rodgers, COL ($16,200) - 6 Games
Six games in Coors Field for only $16,200. Over the L30 Rodgers is hitting a respectable .284 with a .206 ISO. He has hit .292 at home for the season. The best part is the last three games for the Rockies are against the Nationals and their atrocious pitching staff.
Gavin Lux, LAD ($16,200) - 6 Games
Over the last two weeks, Lux has been the Dodgers most productive hitter, going 13-33 with a 1.224 OPS. He's not getting everyday starts, but has the seventh most PA on the team over that span as Bellinger's struggles continue. The first three games of the week are against Arizona for the cherry on top.
OwnersBox Outfielder Picks
As I mentioned previously, filling the three Outfield slots is more difficult than the five Infielders on OwnersBox. You need 17 games from the three hitters, so that means you mostly want to stay away from five-game hitters. I try to get at least one seven-gamer if possible and aim for at least 19 total games for two lowest score drops.
Jose Siri, HOU ($13,200) - 6 Games
This kid's got some wheels, and is off to one hell of a start for the Astros. Through his first 11 MLB games, Siri is 10-30 with 4 HR, and 3 SB. The fantasy upside is quite tantalizing if he can control the whiffs. This week's schedule starts off with a bang for the Stros facing Oakland and their non-existent bullpen.
Jarred Kelenic, SEA ($17,400) - 6 Games
Finally some signs of life from the coveted prospect. Over the last two weeks, Kelenic boasts a 192 wRC+ with a .465 ISO. Lucky for him and us, his projected schedule this week only contains two southpaws for the Angels and Athletics - but its still a great hitters schedule regardless.
