OwnersBox Quarterback Picks
On OwnersBox, you have the option of starting two quarterbacks as this is a Superflex contest.
Trevor Lawrence, JAX ($6,300) - @ SEA
Seattle allows the fourth-most passing yards in the NFL.
Lawrence had a rough start to the season, throwing seven interceptions in his first three games. But he's settled in since, with one pick in the last three games. The touchdown throws aren't necessarily here yet, but a healthier group of receivers should give Lawrence some nice upside in Week 8. He's also coming off of a 319-yard passing day in Week 6 against Miami, for what it's worth.
Teddy Bridgewater, DEN ($6,300) - vs WAS
While we're targeting bad defenses, let's take a shot on Bridgewater, who faces a Football Team that allows the most fantasy points to opposing passers.
Teddy has thrown multiple touchdowns in three straight games and while he did toss three picks against the Raiders, that's the only time he's thrown more than one interception all season.
Also of note: it looks like Jerry Jeudy will play for the first time since Week 1, which is good for Bridgewater, as he'll have a big-play receiver back in the lineup to help him have a strong fantasy day.
OwnersBox Running Back Picks
Khalil Herbert, CHI ($5,800) - vs SF
Herbert is coming off an 18-carry, 100-yard day against Tampa, which is ostensibly the NFL's best rush defense. Before that, he had 19 carries for 97 yards and a score against the Packers.
Herbert appears to be for real. And while the 49ers have a reputation for being a good run defense, it's worth noting that they've allowed five rushing scores to running backs this season so far.
And even if the matchup isn't great, we just saw Herbert play well against an even-better defense, and his DFS salary is still a relative bargain when you factor in his projected workload.
Kenneth Gainwell, PHI ($4,800) - @ DET
With Miles Sanders on IR now, this is Gainwell's backfield against a Lions team that allows the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs.
Boston Scott will get some looks, but I'd expect Gainwell to still get about half the rushing attempts out of the backfield plus almost all of the targets out of the backfield.
Last week with Sanders still in the mix, Gainwell had 61 scrimmage yards and a touchdown.
OwnersBox Wide Receiver Picks
Stefon Diggs, BUF ($7,100) - vs MIA
The Dolphins allow the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers, so I'm making Diggs my big money play on OwnersBox this week.
Diggs is coming off a big game, catching nine passes for 89 yards and a score on 11 targets. He hasn't been as dominant as expected, but Diggs is still the No. 1 target on one of the NFL's best offenses, which is a good reason to play Diggs in this contest. (And if you're feeling ready to make some risky sleeper picks, paying up for a Josh Allen/Stefon Diggs stack could be great.)
Jamal Agnew, JAX ($4,200) - @ SEA
Alright, here's this week's "just be weird" pick.
If we're playing Trevor Lawrence, we should play one of his targets. Now, logic says you should play Laviska Shenault or Marvin Jones Jr., but as I just said, we're getting weird.
Agnew, a former defensive back, has been targeted 14 times over the past two games, with 14 fantasy points in each of those games.
It's unlikely Agnew keeps this pace up, but if you're trying to take down one of these big OwnersBox tournaments, you have to take some risks. I'm taking a risk on the Lawrence/Agnew connection.
