Making his Chicago Cubs debut, starting pitcher Yu Darvish couldn’t make it out of the fifth inning. In 4 1/3 innings, Darvish gave up five runs and struck out five batters while walking two. Darvish is lined up to face the Brewers next Friday and should have better results.

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Johnny Cueto was lights out on Friday evening versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. Cueto pitched seven innings allowing one hit and striking out four batters. Cueto had a rough 2017 campaign, but is off to a nice start in 2018. He remains a strong bounce back candidate.

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks allowed one run on four hits while striking out five batters. Hendricks only downfall tonight were his three walks. The right-hander remains one of the more underrated and consistent starters in the game. Hendricks will go for his first win of the season Thursday versus the Milwaukee Brewers.

Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant hit his first home run of the season on Friday. Bryant finished the game 3-for-6 and chipped in a double, single and walk. Bryant remains one of the better offensive options in all formats and should return first round value this year.
