Generally when you are two months into a fantasy season, there are pretty set rotations or trends that you can use to build lineups. That is not the case this week as a rash of injuries, ineffectiveness and bad match-ups make for a ton of questions. We look at a few ways to build and who to potentially exploit this week in CFB DFS.

The quarterback position this week may be the ugliest of any main slate so far this season. Injuries in Indiana, Tulane, and Georgia make playing anyone of those quarterbacks tough. Meanwhile Clemson, Purdue and Florida cannot seem to decide on who will be playing on a consistent basis. Finally you have some of the toughest defenses in the country in Iowa, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Cincinnati which are all avoid spots if possible.

Williams, Hartman, and Pickett are rock solid options, but will not come cheap which means we need to find value at other spots. If you believe in the rushing ability of a Martinez, Brown or Ridder they could all be nice GPP plays for a bit of cost savings.
You can sure take a risk on some of the unstable situations as noted above, but buyer beware that there are several options this week that could net you under 10 fantasy points very easily, which is not a formula for a big cash.

Unlike quarterback, running back is absolutely loaded with good options this week. It says something when a player like Blake Corum isn’t really even consideration this week. For cash games it will be hard to not go to players like Brooks, Dye and Knighton who have taken to their new roles very well over the past few weeks. Meanwhile workhorse backs like Robinson and Walker III have such high floors that they are playable in all formats.
On the GPP side, Zach Evans sits at the top of the rankings but be sure to keep up on the news around him. There were rumors he had left the team earlier in the week, but has recently popped up as a full practice participant. If he is a 100% go his price is simply too low for the talent he possesses. Also keep an eye on RBBC teams like Michigan, Oklahoma and Baylor who have in the recent weeks moved to more of a one feature back team with Haskins, Brooks and Smith all benefitting.

As mentioned above, quarterback is a bit of a mess, while running back is rock solid this week. So it makes sense that wide receiver is split down the middle. There are virtually no “safe” cash game plays this week, but there are a plethora of GPP options that could boom and win you a GPP. David Bell is too cheap in GPP’s and should be the top cash game option, but he is coming off a sub 10 point outing, which is not what we expect out of the Purdue star. The Wake Forest group should be safe, but they at times do spread the ball around with caps their upside.
In GPP’s, the inconsistent quarterback play has really made it hard to peg the top WR plays each week. Oklahoma is a prime example of this as one week Jadon Haselwood reminds everyone why he was a 5-star prospect with 3 touchdowns, but also has only 1 other game over 13 fantasy points this year. The same goes for his running mate in Marvin Mims, who floats between a bench player and one of the top receivers in the country.
It will also be vital to look at the last few weeks stats and see how quarterback changes in places such as Oklahoma, Miami and Georgia have changed the productivity of certain players. Overall, this will likely be the group that either sends you to the top of leaderboards, or sinks an otherwise good team.
