Shallow League Streamers (50% Rostered)
Hitters to Stream:
Daniel Murphy (1B/COL) - 46% Rostered
Murphy has not performed well to start the season, but perhaps a trip back to Coors Field will help him. He goes up against right-hander, Garrett Richards, and could find success as he has put up a .370+ wOBA in three of the past four seasons vs. righties. He also put up a .361 wOBA at Coors in 2019 with a .361 OBP. He may not provide a lot of power, but if this offense can get on base in front of him or behind him, he may be able to put up some RBI or R production.
Deeper League Streamers (25% Rostered)
Pitchers to Stream:
Tyler Chatwood (SP/RP CHC) - 20% Rostered
Tyler Chatwood had a solid first outing Sunday when he struck out eight across six innings while only allowing one earned run in a 9-1 win vs. the Brewers. His next start comes against a subpar Pirates squad and he could make for a solid streamer. The Pirates have struggled mightily vs. right-handed pitchers to begin the 2020 campaign. As of this writing (7/29), the Pirates rank 29th in the league in terms of AVG vs. righties with a .187 clip. They have also struck out at a rate of 26% vs. righties to begin the season.
Hitters to Stream:
Wil Myers (1B /OF, SD) - 33% Rostered
While Wil Myers has typically performed better vs. left-handed pitching in his career, he has not done poorly vs. right-handed pitching. In 2019, Myers had a .319 wOBA vs righties and paired that with a .241 AVG, hitting 11 of his 18 home runs. He has also slashed .247/.311/.411 vs. righties since 2018. Myers has also seen a ton of Jon Gray over the years and has accumulated 41 PA. Over those appearances, Myers has gone 14/37 with three HR and posted a slash line of .378/.415/.730. Oh, and the game is in Coors.
Deepest League Streamers (10% Rostered)
Hitters to Stream:
Brandon Nimmo (OF, NYM) - 9% Rostered
This is an interesting matchup that will pit Nimmo (lefty who hits lefties well) vs. Sean Newcomb (lefty who is worse vs. lefties) against each other. Nimmo had a wOBA of .347 and .490 vs lefties across 2018 and 2019, respectively. He also got on base at a clip of .353 and .490 in those two seasons, respectively. Newcomb, on the other hand, has struggled vs. lefties as he has posted an ERA above 4.00 each of the previous two seasons. He also allowed seven HR in just 36 IP in 2018 and another two HR over just 20 IP a season ago.
Kevin Pillar (OF, BOS) - 18% Rostered
Kevin Pillar has started the season on fire and is a solid play vs. Yankees' left-hander Jordan Montgomery. Montgomery put up a 4.63 ERA and 1.69 WHIP vs. right-handed hitters in 2018, which was the last time he saw significant action. Pillar hit lefties to the tune of .339 wOBA in 2019 and hit nine of his 21 HR vs. left-handed pitching in 2019. He could be high in the batting order too as he batted second vs. Mets' left-hander Steven Matz last night.
