Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - Waiver Wire Picks for Wednesday 8/4

Baseball is back, and fantasy managers in daily leagues no doubt already have holes to fill. The easiest way to do that is with streamers. Fortunately, RotoBaller has you covered with daily streaming picks.

Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best fantasy baseball streaming picks - options to consider in fantasy baseball daily leagues. Additionally, these recommendations can be useful for fantasy managers setting DFS lineups.

Wednesday brings us another split slate that has a particularly early first pitch at 12:35pm ET. We have Coors Field on the schedule in the latter portion of the ledger as well, along with some exploitable arms, several of them left-handers. The recent busy trade deadline has also opened up some new opportunities for a couple of players that are still very low-rostered, and a pair of those bats are part of my Deep League recommendations today.

Hitter Streamers for 8/4 - Shallow Leagues     

Yadier Molina (C, STL) - 61% rostered

Matchup: vs. ATL LHP Drew Smyly

Molina has been productive against southpaws this season,  producing an impressive .279/.340/.558 slash line, .379 wOBA and 140 wRC+ versus that handedness. He also comes in with three consecutive two-hit efforts to open August and is an excellent contact hitter who can be relied on to consistently put the ball in play. Meanwhile, Smyly has had plenty of trouble in opposite-handed matchups on the road, yielding a .294 average, .363 wOBA, 1.6 HR/9 and 5.05 xFIP in that split on the season.

Jorge Soler (OF, ATL) - 56% rostered            

Matchup: @ STL LHP J.A. Happ

Soler gets a crack at a vulnerable left-hander in Happ, who'll be making his Cardinals debut after a rough first half-plus of the season in Minnesota. Soler has had more success against southpaws than righties this season, belting eight of his 14 homers off left-handed pitching and producing a .365 wOBA and .286 ISO against that handedness on the road, along with a 42.2 percent hard-contact rate against lefties overall. Meanwhile, Happ has been eviscerated by right-handed hitters for a .307 average, .397 wOBA, 20 of the 21 homers he's allowed and a 5.49 xFIP. Soler also profiles extremely well against two of Happ's three most often-thrown pitches, as he boasts .360 and .355 wOBAs against the four-seam fastball and the sinker, respectively.

Robbie Grossman (OF, DET) -50% rostered

Matchup: vs. BOS LHP Eduardo Rodriguez

The switch-hitting Grossman takes aim at a southpaw in Rodriguez that has allowed a .298 average and .342 wOBA to right-handed hitters on the road, along with an elevated 24.8 percent line-drive rate. For his part, Grossman has been more effective when hitting against lefties and especially when facing them at Comerica Park. The veteran outfielder boasts an outstanding .935 OPS, .380 wOBA and .333 ISO in that split, and he also checks into Wednesday's matchup having put some good wood on the ball of late. Grossman owns a .385 wOBA and .900 OPS across 73 second-half plate appearances, already belting four homers since the All-Star break.

Amed Rosario (SS, OF, CLE) -25% rostered

Matchup: @ TOR LHP Steven Matz

Rosario's handiwork against left-handed pitching on the road this season includes a .361 average, .419 wOBA, .213 ISO and .983 OPS across 66 plate appearances. The versatile 26-year-old is also slashing .333/.386/.538 over his last 10 games, and Wednesday, he faces a former Mets teammate in Matz, who's given up a .307/.375/.505 slash line and .380 wOBA to right-handed hitters in his home parks this season. He's also yielded  a 1.8 HR/9 in that split, while four of Rosario's six homers on the season have come off lefties.

Hitter Streamers for 8/4 - Deeper Leagues

LaMonte Wade Jr. (1B, OF, SFG) - 14% rostered

Matchup: @ ARI RHP Zac Gallen

Wade should be back in the lineup Wednesday night after getting the last two games off due to some back tightness, and he makes for an interesting streaming option against Gallen. The Diamondbacks right-hander has had a particularly difficult time against right-handed hitters at home, surrendering a .314 average, .861 OPS and .373 wOBA in that split, along with a 1.5 HR/9. Wade has been one of the many pleasant surprises of the season for the Giants and has excelled in opposite-handed matchups on the road, producing a .317 average, .949 OPS, .401 wOBA and .250 ISO against righties when traveling while only striking out at a modest 17.4 percent clip.

Jose Iglesias (SS, LAA) - 7% rostered

Matchup: @ TEX LHP Kolby Allard

Iglesias seems to be perpetually low-rostered, but he's a solid all-around fantasy asset who can prove particularly rewarding when streamed against southpaws. The veteran infielder owns a .283 average and .724 OPS against left-handers this season, and he's once again proving to be a very reliable contact hitter with just a modest 15.5 percent strikeout rate overall and versus lefties specifically. Meanwhile, Allard pitched to a 9.13 ERA, .291 BAA and .370 wOBA in 23.2 July innings, and he's been fortunate against right-handers at home with an atypically low .244 BABIP against him in that split.

Corey Dickerson (OF, TOR) - 3% rostered        

Matchup: vs. CLE RHP J.C. Mejia

Like Wade, Dickerson is another lefty-swinging streamer whose matchup lines up well Wednesday, as the veteran outfielder gets a shot a pitcher in Mejia who's allowed a .354 average, 1.094 OPS and .460 wOBA to the 74 left-handed batters he's faced on the road. Dickerson just came off the IL and played in his first Blue Jays game Tuesday, so his bat might still be a bit rusty. Nevertheless, Dickerson was hitting righties on the road very well during his time with the Marlins earlier this season (.281 average, .781 OPS, .342 wOBA), and that split applies Wednesday considering Rogers Centre is a brand-new home park for Dickerson. His matchup will remain strong after Mejia exits as well, as Cleveland relievers have pitched to a 5.59 ERA, .291 average and .356 wOBA when facing lefty bats during the second half of the season.

Carter Kieboom (3B, SS, WAS) - 2% rostered

Matchup: vs. PHI RHP Chase Anderson

Kieboom is set to continue receiving regular playing time after the Nationals' trades at the deadline, and he's already started making good use of the opportunity. The 23-year-old owns a .368 average and .961 OPS across his last six games, and he heads into Wednesday's matchup against Anderson with a .300 average, .850 OPS and .368 wOBA against right-handed pitching over a small sample this season. Anderson has both started and pitched in relief this season with only middling success, and he's been smashed by right-handed hitters for a .363 average, .437 wOBA, 1.8 HR/9 and 5.34 xFIP across a 100-batter sample. Philly relievers will make for good targets for Kieboom as well, as they've pitched to a .280 average and .370 wOBA against righty bats since the All-Star break.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/4 - Shallow Leagues

Zach Thompson (SP, MIA) - 33% rostered      

Matchup: vs. NYM RHP Carlos Carrasco

Thompson's clunky 2-4 record is belied by a host of his other metrics, including a 2.33 ERA, 9.5 K/9, 0.7 HR/9 and 1.09 WHIP. He's also been very good in his home park, posting a 2.08 ERA, 10.4 K/9 and 0.8 HR/9 across 21.2 innings there. Thompson has yet to give up more than three earned runs in any start despite facing the likes of the Red Sox, Yankees and Padres, and he's gone at least five frames in four of seven trips to the mound overall. The Mets have been dangerous on the road against righties thus far in the second half of the season, but Thompson does a good job keeping the ball in the park and limiting damage overall, making him a viable consideration.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/4 - Deeper Leagues

Paolo Espino (SP, WAS) - 7% rostered      

Matchup: vs. PHI RHP Chase Anderson

Espino has been a true surprise for the Nationals in a down season for the franchise, as the veteran has stepped into the rotation and performed admirably. The right-hander owns a 3.08 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and modest 1.6 BB/9, and he's been particularly effective at Nationals Park. Espino owns a 2.23 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 0.9 HR/9 across 40.1 home frames, and while the Phillies have been serviceable against righties on the road thus far in the second half, Espino has yet to give up more than three earned runs in any start.
