Finding some streaming candidates at pitcher was a bit challenging for this final Wednesday of the regular season, but there are plenty of prominent veteran hitters that find themselves in very appealing matchups.

Hitter Streamers for 9/29 - Shallow Leagues
Amed Rosario (SS/OF, CLE) - 37% rostered
Matchup: @ KCR LHP Daniel Lynch
Rosario has hit left-handers well all season and particularly on the road, where’s he tagged them for a .346 average, .934 OPS and .398 wOBA, along with a robust 155 wRC+. He’s been in a funk as the season winds down, but he may have just the matchup to draw him out of it Wednesday. Lynch checks into his final start of the season having allowed a .296 average, .383 wOBA and a 1.4 HR/9 to right-handed hitters, and he’s already enduring a rough final month with an 8.10 ERA and .384 wOBA allowed across 16.2 innings.
Bobby Dalbec (1B/3B, BOS) - 47% rostered
Matchup: @ BAL LHP Zac Lowther
Dalbec is another streaming candidate that could be poised to capitalize on a matchup versus a southpaw Wednesday, as Lowther checks in having given up a .355 wOBA, 1.7 HR/9 and 5.30 xFIP to right-handed hitters. Meanwhile, Dalbec has encountered the majority of his success this season against left-handed pitching, posting a .281 average, .874 OPS, .365 wOBA and 129 wRC+ in that split. Dalbec also happens to be an excellent hitter against Lowther’s second-most often-thrown pitch, the changeup, as he’s battered the offering for a .429 average and .532 wOBA this season.
Evan Longoria (3B, SFG) - 24% rostered
Matchup: vs. ARI RHP Merrill Kelly
Longoria draws a favorable matchup on paper against Kelly, who’s yielded a .317 average, .396 wOBA and 2.3 HR/9 to right-handed hitters on the road. Kelly is also struggling to keep it together as the season winds down, as he’s pitched to an 8.44 ERA, .395 BAA and .462 wOBA across 10.2 innings in September. Meanwhile, while Longoria has enjoyed more success overall versus lefties, he’s gotten to right-handers at home for a .288 average, .897 OPS, .383 wOBA and 143 wRC+.
Lorenzo Cain (OF, MIL) - 22% rostered
Matchup: @ STL RHP Miles Mikolas
Cain has enjoyed success against Mikolas in the past, posting a .313 average with two doubles, a home run and only two strikeouts over 18 career plate appearances. He’s been swinging a hot bat recently as well, as evidenced by a .333/.415/.544 slash line with three doubles, three homers and 12 RBI across his last 18 games. Cain has enjoyed his most success versus right-handed hitters on the road as well, where he's produced a .298 average, six of his eight homers, .384 wOBA and .255 ISO in that split.
Hitter Streamers for 9/29- Deeper Leagues
Brandon Nimmo (OF, NYM) - 20% rostered
Matchup: vs. MIA RHP Elieser Hernandez
Nimmo walks into an excellent statistical matchup against Hernandez, whose shoddy body of work against lefty hitters this season includes a .271 BAA, .407 wOBA, 3.8 HR/9 and 5.68 xFIP. Hernandez is also enduring his roughest month of the season, pitching to a 5.12 ERA, .282 BAA and .376 wOBA in 19.1 September innings. Conversely, Nimmo is enjoying his best month of the campaign with a .294 and .836 OPS across 13 September games, and he’s posted a .291 average, .862 OPS and .370 wOBA when facing righties at Citi Field.
Colin Moran (1B/2B/3B, PIT) - 9% rostered
Matchup: vs. CHC RHP Kyle Hendricks
Moran has put together another solid season despite the Pirates’ team-level troubles, and he’s particularly thrived when facing right-handed pitching in his home park. Moran owns a .330 average, .850 OPS and .368 wOBA against righties at PNC Park, along with a very elevated 26.3 percent line-drive rate in that split. Hendricks has a solid won-loss record but has struggled with the long ball and left-handed hitters in particular, giving up 31 homers overall (16 to lefty bats), along with a .289 average, .379 wOBA and 5.27 xFIP to lefty bats on the season.
Bryan De La Cruz (OF, MIA) - 5% rostered
Matchup: @ NYM RHP Taijuan Walker
De La Cruz has hit either handedness of pitcher well, and he’s posted a .298 average and .334 wOBA against right-handed pitching specifically. He’s also generated and elevated 23.7 percent line-drive rate and 39.5 percent hard-contact rate against righties on the road, while Walker, who’s struggled in the second half of the season, has given up a .324 wOBA and 16 of the 26 homers he's yielded to right-handed hitters. He’s also had a hard time getting De La Cruz out in their brief five-encounter sample, allowing him to reach on four of those occasions via singles. It’s also worth noting De La Cruz carries some solid RBI potential, as he boasts a .323 average with men on base.
Yadiel Hernandez (OF, WAS)- 3% rostered
Matchup: @ COL RHP Peter Lambert
Hernandez provides some low-rostered exposure to Wednesday’s Coors Field matchup and comes into the game with a solid .272 average, .784 OPS and .334 wOBA on the road. Lambert has only faced nine left-handed hitters this season and allowed four to reach safely with the help of a couple of homers, and he’s given up a .334 average, .434 wOBA and 2.3 HR/9 overall to that handedness in a larger career sample of 199 lefty bats. Once Lambert exits, Hernandez could still enjoy a good matchup against a Rockies bullpen that’s given up a .270 average and .348 wOBA to lefty bats in September.
Pitcher Streamers for 9/29 - Shallow Leagues
Michael Pineda (SP, MIN) - 44% rostered
Matchup: vs. DET RHP Casey Mize
Pineda churned out a quality start against the Tigers in his one encounter with Detroit this season, and current bats on A.J. Hinch’s squad own just a collective .217/.237/.317 slash line over 97 career encounters with the veteran right-hander. Pineda has also been very effective in the second half of the season, pitching to a 5-3 record, 3.19 ERA and 1.20 WHIP across 42.1 innings. In turn, the Tigers haven’t been anything special against righties on the road in the last month, as evidenced by their 24.8 percent strikeout rate, .313 wOBA and -0.6 wRAA in that split.
Pitcher Streamers for 9/29 - Deeper Leagues
Drew Rasmussen (SP, TAM) - 14% rostered
Matchup: @ HOU RHP Luis Garcia
Rasmussen does draw a tough matchup, but he’s been very good as a starter and is one of the very few trustworthy deep-league streaming pitching candidates Wednesday. The right-hander owns a 3-1 record and 3.04 ERA, and he’s been at his most effective on the road, where he logged all four decisions and posted a 2.37 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and tiny 0.5 HR/9. Rasmussen has qualified for a decision in each of his last three starts as well, and perhaps the biggest testament to how effective a starter he’s become is the fact he’s pitched to a 1.89 ERA and 0.89 WHIP over his last four starts, two apiece against the potent lineups of the Blue Jays and Red Sox, including one each at each team’s hitter-friendly home parks. The Astros therefore shouldn’t be overly intimidating despite their own upside and strong numbers against right-handed pitching at home.
