Welcome to the May 7th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on the May 6th games. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Albert Pujols, you were great. We will miss you.
- "Baby, let's cruise, away from here....You're gonna fly away, glad you're goin' my way" Giancarlo Stanton (nine) has installed Smokey Robinson soundtrack on his HR.
- Jarred Kelenic must work on some things in the minors. **Two HR later** Hmm, what do we say now?
- Yordan Alvarez (five) makes two deposits into the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
- It's when you hear that Old School Players - Old School Bass CD playing that you know...Alec Bohm is coming (three).
- Zack Wheeler knows if you wants something done, you do it yourself. W, 9 IP, 8 K. WSH next.
- Robbie Grossman pickin' 'em off one by one. Seventh SB.
- Nathan Eovaldi knows how to play down to the competition. 4.1 IP, 6 ER, 5 K. Where's the heartburn medicine?
- WUNDERBAR! The Kepler Kaboose makes its first journey.
- Franchy Cordero time? 3-for-5.
- Are Las Tortugas supposed to bat cleanup?
- Hunter Renfroe doesn't play well with others? Everyone having fun, but he leaves seven men on base. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. afflicted similarly.
- Nobody move...this is the lineup...Marcus Semien, Bo Bichette, Vlad Guerrero, Teoscar Hernandez, Randal Grichuk, Cavan Biggio, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., .., ... Nobody touch it.
- Joey Gallo (four) w/ 434-ft moonshot & the crowd goes wild.
- Danny Jansen does some abracadabra for first HR. Have you forgotten Alejandro Kirk yet?
- Taijuan Walker looked masterful in the kitchen. 7 IP, 0 ER, 8 K.
- Franmil Reyes creates his eighth unique piece. He just smacks some paint on the canvas & voila!
- Ronald Acuna Jr. (10/5) leans against the wall and slips into a secret room...just as Shohei Ohtani (10/6) sits down in a leather chair. Ahhh, the '10 HR/5 SB Club'.
- Adam Duvall releases his sixth life jacket to stay just above the waterline. (.200 AVG)
- Pablo Lopez continues to get the Jacob deGrom treatment. No, not the overwhelming love ...the lack of run support.
- Andrew Heaney (6.2 IP, 0 ER, 10 K)...a Win is like a precious pet...you poke it, you massage it, you love it...then you hand it to the bullpen & they crush your precious pet.
- Good wishes out to Alex Kirilloff (IL).
- Byron Buxton w/ hip strain. Do we have to scream, "We were right, we were right?" No. Get healthy young man & get back on that field. It's great to watch you.
Endgame
- Yimi Garcia (five)
- Ryan Pressly (five). Tainted save. 2 IP, 1 ER.
- Will Smith (seven)
- Edwin Diaz (four)
- Adam Ottavino (one)
- Josh Sborz (one)
Closing Thoughts
- Good mornin'. Good mornin'. Consistency. If you want to be better at something, you have to do it regularly. You can't do something a few times and assume you've got it down. That's mediocrity. If you're going to do it, master it. Get thousands of hours doing it so you can actually have skills. Being familiar with something isn't the same as knowing how to do it.
- Have a great Friday.
