DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks for 2/6/21 - Daily Fantasy College Basketball Advice

CFB DFS lineup picks DraftKings NCAA daily college fantasy basketball

47This nine-game early slate for college basketball this week is a touch smaller than usual. That doesn't mean it's without star power. Big 12(10) heavyweights Kansas and Texas are on here along with two good opponents in West Virginia and Oklahoma State respectively. We have Illinois and Wisconsin from the Big Ten(14). Alabama, who is running roughshod through the SEC is here too.

In college basketball it's perfectly fine to ignore slow-paced games or teams with tough matchups on a large slate like this. Don't worry, we have plenty of paced-up games going on here. Alabama is on the slate. Texas and Oklahoma State could play fast. Syracuse and Clemson could be more of a defensive battle. There are a couple of good pieces in that game, but they are mostly on the cheaper side of life. I do wish they would have put the St. John's and Providence tilt on there. That had a high implied total as well.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 2/6/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Bo Hodges, Butler ($7,700)

There aren't many sure things in the upper tier at guard. Dru Smith and Cade Cunningham have tough opponents. Ayu Dosunmu has been in a slump of late, and I'm not paying the highest tag on the slate to run McBride at Kansas. I'd much rather take Hodges. His ceiling is as high as any other guard on the slate and he has a much better matchup than anyone else in front of him. The transfer from East Tennessee State was only cleared two games ago, but Hodges has 70 DraftKings points in those two games. Both of those were against teams that are much better than DePaul. I will have a lot of Hodges today.

Jaden Shackelford, Alabama ($7,000)

Shackelford has been the most consistent piece of a potent Alabama team over the last couple of weeks. Both Herbert Jones and John Petty have more upside, but I want the sure thing that Shackelford provides. However, I'll be heavily exposed to both sides of this game. There is a low spread and the highest implied total on the entire slate. Jones hasn't been putting up the big numbers of late, so I'm content to run Shackelford by himself if you choose to attack a couple of the potentially lopsided Big East games.

Hunter Cattoor, Virginia Tech ($5,800)

Tyrese Radford is out for the Hokies, so Cattoor should see his stock rise even more. He has been one of the better Virginia Tech players of the last fortnight, going for more than 20 DraftKings points in three straight. The problem with Cattoor is that he doesn't provide much for peripheral stats. I would feel a lot better about this if Miami didn't have a chance at being at full strength for the first time in almost two weeks. The Hurricanes beat Duke with only eight players in uniform earlier this week, so there's a chance they keep it close anyway. I would just feel better about Cattoor's chances of doing more than score if he were paired against Miami's second unit most of the game.

Mark Smith, Missouri ($4,200)

Smith has been coming off the bench for Missouri over the last couple of games, but his showing from a bench role has been even better than when he was starting. Smith still plays 28-30 minutes per game. His ceiling has never been very high, but this is exactly the type of value player I want. Smith is cheap, plays a lot of minutes, and is involved in the highest paced game on the slate. It's all about opportunity when digging down in the bargain barrel.

Also consider: Isaiah Wong, Miami ($7,500); Marcus Garrett, Kansas ($6,800); Clyde Trapp, Clemson ($5,100); Deivon Smith, Mississippi State ($4,000)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Keve Aluma, Virginia Tech ($9,200)

I dare you to find a player hotter than Aluma in the last week or so. Aluma has 109 DraftKings points in the last two games against two solid defenses in Pitt and Louisville. Miami has been ravaged up front all year long, including once by Aluma himself. Aluma dropped 47.5 DraftKings points on Miami in the first meeting. That would actually hurt his average of late, but it more than pays off this price tag. If he lands us another 5x value, we have a leg up on the competition. Fade at your own risk. If you need to go cheaper or are looking to stack, Justyn Mutts dominated the Hurricanes in the first meeting as well.

Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe, Oklahoma State ($7,000)

The freshman has been one of the few bright spots of late for the Cowboys. They had some contact tracing issues and have dealt with the struggles of star freshman Cade Cunningham. Teams started cracking down on Cunningham and Isaac Likekele on the outside. Moncrieffe is the phoenix that rose in the middle. Moncrieffe has three double-doubles in the last four games, one of those coming against a Baylor team that may have the best defense in the country. It's going to be tough inside against Texas, but if Moncrieffe can hold his own against Baylor, I'm willing to take a chance on him at a very reasonable price to put up another big stat line.

Jericho Sims, Texas ($5,900)

Sims was a non-factor in the first meeting with Oklahoma State, but Sims has played his way back into the rotation of late with three straight games of more than 25 DraftKings points. Two of those games were against Baylor and Texas Tech. Moncrieffe will be a bit of a handful for Texas here, but Sims is the guy that can counter him. I'm not sure I would run the two together, but I would definitely use the one that correlates with the rest of your team.

Alex Reese, Alabama ($4,700)

Last week I mentioned the struggles of John Perry. Reese has been the guy picking up the slack. Reese had big games against both Oklahoma and LSU, outdoing Perry and Herbert Jones against both of them. DraftKings didn't adjust the price, so I'm willing to roll Reese and Shackelford out there again hoping they keep up their hot streaks. Alabama is very balanced so neither have huge upside. However, you don't need it in this price range. It's more of a decision with Shackelford, but Reese is a lock for me at this price. I can be talked out of Shackelford. I wont be talked out of Reese.

Also consider: Sandro Mamukelashvili, Seton Hall ($8,100); Andrew Jones, Texas ($7,300); Marek Dolezaj, Syracuse ($6,700); Jalen Wilson, Kansas ($5,500)
