DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks for 3/5/21 - Daily Fantasy College Basketball Advice

CFB DFS lineup picks DraftKings NCAA daily college fantasy basketball

I promised that I would be ramping up the college basketball coverage come March, and here we are! We'll have some college basketball for you every day through the NBA All-Star break so you don't get bored. Tonight we are down to just five games and it starts early at 6 pm Eastern so we can fit in the Miami-Boston College matchup. Hey, I'm not complaining! The more the merrier, especially when it has an implied total of 144 points!

In college basketball it's perfectly fine to ignore slow-paced games or teams with tough matchups on a large slate like this. Choosing a couple of spots wisely has been the key this year. The only other game topping 140 tonight is Colorado State and Nevada at 144.5. That one also has an even spread, so there could be some fantasy goodness in there. The Old Dominion-Western Kentucky and UAB-North Texas both come in under 130. I don't think fading entire games on a slate like this is a good idea, but I would advise limiting your exposure to those two games. They'll run slow.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 3/5/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

David Roddy, Colorado State ($9,000)

Roddy quietly fell one assist short of the first triple-double in Rams program history against New Mexico earlier this week. It was his second straight game topping the 40 DraftKings point threshold and his eighth straight over 30. I love slates like this because we get a chance to dig into players that aren't always nationally known. This game has the highest implied total and quite possibly the highest usage player on the slate. Don't sleep on Roddy this evening. He's worth the price.

Jose Alvarado, Georgia Tech ($7,200)

This is an elite guard matchup for the Bees. Devoe has been the hottest one running for most of the month, but it was Alvarado who ravaged Wake in the first meeting for 36 DraftKings points. Alvarado has played all but four minutes of Georgia Tech's last three games including all 45 minutes of the overtime thriller against Duke. It hasn't amounted in a spike in output, but the sheer minutes load is worth paying for. Alvarado is a time bomb. He can go off at any time. I can promise that he'll be in my lineup when he does.

Jay Heath, Boston College ($6,100)

Heath went nuts against Miami in the first meeting, putting up an impressive 45.25 DraftKings points. My issue with Heath is that he relies too much on scoring. Is he going to haul in seven rebounds and dish out four assists again? I would say that's unlikely, but the shot volume is there. Heath's floor is likely 20 points based on scoring alone. That's something to build on for this low of a price.

Dayvion McKnight, Western Kentucky ($4,400)

If you've been reading my column for any amount of time, you know my take on how to attack slow-paced games. Go with the cheap pieces and hope for the best. McKnight has at least 23 DraftKings points in four of the last five games. It's no coincidence that the Hilltoppers won all four of those games. It's going to be a tougher test against Old Dominion, but anything around 20 is good enough for this price.

Also consider: Michael Devoe, Georgia Tech ($8,200); Desmond Cambridge, Nevada ($6,900); Taveion Hollingsworth, Weestern Kentucky ($6,500); Jaylin Hunter, Old Dominion ($5,200)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Moses Wright, Georgia Tech ($9,800)

Just play him. That's all I've got to say. Wright has back-to-back games of over 60 DraftKings points. His first game against Wake was an aberration. Wright only took seven shots. He has taken 45 over the last two games. I'm following the recent trend. I'm all-in on Wright.

CJ Felder, Boston College ($6,900)

Felder only played 21 minutes in his return after a three week absence against Florida State. He was a little rusty with his shot, hitting only two of eight. Felder is still pretty cheap for what he is capable of if he's back up to normal minutes. He racked up 40 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Miami in 35 minutes. Let's split the difference and say Felder plays around 28 minutes. That should put him somewhere in the neighborhood of 25-28 DraftKings points. That's a decent return, but if I use Felder, it will be in the hopes that he reaches some of that upside in this price range.

Isaiah Mucius, Wake Forest ($4,600)

This price is too low on Mucius. That's the reason I'll have so many pieces of this game. Most of the Wake and Georgia Tech pieces feel cheap. Mucius had 27.75 DraftKings points in the first meeting in 29 minutes. He has topped the 30 minute mark in each of the last two games. I am a little nervous about stacking this game, but DraftKings is basically begging us to. Even if you don't use the expensive pieces, there is great value here to pay up for whoever you want.

Also consider: Charles Bassey, Western Kentucky ($9,300); Jordan Usher, Georgia Tech ($6,000); Xavier Green, Old Dominion ($4,700)
