DraftKings gives us a five-game slate to battle those All-Star Break blues. I guarantee that this slate will be more enjoyable than the NBA All-Star game was. There's a lot at stake here! We have Mercer and UNC-Greensboro battling for a NCAA Tournament berth in the Southern Conference final. The same is true for Appalachian State and Georgia State in the Sun Belt final. We have number one Gonzaga in the semis of the WCC with Pepperdine and BYU following later. Top that off with Game 2 of the Horizon League semifinals and we have our five!
Choosing a couple of spots wisely has been the key this year. Northern Kentucky and Oakland have the highest total on the slate right now at 148.5. Pepperdine-BYU is just under that at 147.5. The Southern and Sun Belt finals are both sitting at 140.5. Gonzaga has the lowest implied total at 139.5 and the highest spread at -18. People are going heavy on Gonzaga because they're the name everyone knows. We can gain some leverage by finding better spots. That's what I'm here for.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 3/8/21. DraftKings CBB DFS Guards
Colbey Ross, Pepperdine ($9,200)
Ross has been on quite a tear lately, putting up more than 40 DraftKings points in three straight games. He nearly hit that threshold in both games against BYU in the regular season. Ross leads the team in points and assists, and will be the key if the Waves are going to pull the upset in the WCC semifinals here. A 27 percent usage rate is very high for a college player, but that's where Ross sits on the season. He's the most likely to pay off his lofty price among the guard corps tonight.
Trevon Faulkner, Northern Kentucky ($7,100)
Look out for the Norse here. All three starting guards have been running hot lately. On top of that, Oakland has been one of the worst teams in the entire country in guard defense. I can see using Marquez Warrick over Faulkner because he is the better scorer, but when Warrick goes cold, his floor is single digits. Faulkner does a little bit of everything to help the team and provides a stable floor. Considering that he should be able to score more easily in the game, I also think Faulkner's ceiling is high enough. In GPP formats though, Warrick's ceiling is probably still a little higher.
Adrian Delph, Appalachian State ($6,100)
The Appalachian State guards are in almost as good of a spot as the Northern Kentucky guards are here. Same as with the Norse, I like the cheapest of the three options. Unlike the Norse, Delph has a nice history against Georgia State this year. In three games against the Panthers, Delph has racked up 68.5 DraftKings points. Forrest has the higher ceiling, but I'm going to need the savings elsewhere.
Jeff Gary, Mercer ($5,300)
Gary has been the best guard for the Bears in the Southern tournament so far. He has 71 DraftKings points in the three games pushing the Bears into the title game. If you have the money, moving up to Leon Ayers or Neftali Alvarez makes sense because of the higher ceilings, but Gray has been providing within five DraftKings points of their production for a much lower price in the case of Alvarez.
Also consider: Jalen Moore, Oakland ($9,500); Justin Forrest, Appalachian State ($6,500); Joel Ayayi, Gonzaga ($6,200); Keyshaun Langley, UNC-Greensboro ($5,600)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards
Daniel Oladapo, Oakland ($8,200)
Oladapo hasn't been under 30 DraftKings points in over a month. The three consecutive double-doubles don't hurt his cause either. Oladapo leds teh team in rebounds by a large margin and is just behind Jalen Moore in scoring. However, Oladapo has been outpacing Moore in that department more often than not since the beginning of February. As much as I like Moore, I like the $1,300 savings more and I think the Norse are going to have a tougher time keeping Oladapo off the glass than Moore off the scoreboard.
Eliel Nsoseme, Georgia State ($6,900)
Both of these teams are dominated by guards, but Nsoseme has three double-doubles in the last four games. In the game that he missed the mark, he was just one rebound shy. Nsoseme's work on the boards gives him a nice floor. The Mountaineers are statistically the worst teams against forwards on this entire slate. Nsoseme put up a solid 70.5 DraftKings points in the three games against Appalachian this year. Considering that Nsoseme has been playing more minutes of late, he should finish in the mid to high 20's tonight.
Matt Haarms, BYU ($6,300)
If the name looks familiar, it should. Haarms began his career at Purdue and played three years there before taking Horace Greeley's advice and going west. He wound up on Provo and had a solid campaign there. Haarms is a good enough shooter to get hot at any time and BYU's decided height advantage should come into play against the Waves. Haarms does rely a lot on scoring so he's a bit of a risk, but the reward is high enough to give it a run if running multiple lineups.
Mohammed Abdulsalam, UNC-Greensboro ($4,800)
Abdulsalam is one of the more consistent pieces you'll find at any price point tonight. He has at least 15 DraftKings points in nine straight games. He doesn't have much of a ceiling, but no one in this price range does. Abdulsalam's output against Mercer in the regular season was 38 DraftKings points in 35 minutes. If he can play the 20-22 minutes that he did throughout the Southern Tournament, Adbulsalam should hit 20 DraftKings points. That's a great return for the price.
Also consider: Corey Kispert, Gonzaga ($8,700); Micah Parrish, Oakland ($7,200); Hayden Koval, UNC-Greensboro ($5,100); Caleb Lohner, BYU ($5,000)
