DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football (10/16/21 Primetime)

breece hall NFL Draft fantasy football rankings rookies draft sleepers

We have another eight games for our Saturday prime time college football slate on DraftKings. We start off in the SEC with Alabama coming off their first loss in two years heading to StarkVegas. A half-hour later, North Carolina State heads up to Chestnut Hill while we have some more SEC with Ole Miss heading to Rocky Top. Stanford heads up to the Paloose trying to shake off a loss. TCU heads to Norman and Iowa State heads to the Little Apple.

The 8pm Eastern hour starts off with the Knights of Army getting to Jump Around in Madison. We close the night with UCLA heading up to Seattle. This is going to be another good one!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup primetime picks for DraftKings on 10/9/21, locking at 7 pm eastern. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Quarterbacks

Matt Corral, Mississippi ($10,000)

The Tennessee defense is much-improved, but they have also given up some yards this year. Corral seems like a safe play against anyone right now, especially with the game he had against Arkansas. Alabama is the only team to hold Corral under 33 DraftKings points this year. He has broken the 40 threshold once and was 0.8 points shy of 60 against Tulane. 60! There are ceilings, then there's Corral on the other side of that. That's how good he has been this year.

Hendon Hooker, Tennessee ($8,800)

KJ Jefferson broke slates last week against this Ole Miss defense. Hooker isn't quite the athlete that Jefferson is and he doesn't have quite the receivers. What he does have is a lot of talent and a great offensive scheme. The Vols have scored 107 points in the last two games. Hooker has gone over 30 DraftKings points in each of those games. He wont have quite the stat line that Jefferson did, but Hooker looks like a sure bet for 30 here.

Jayden de Laura, Washington State ($7,000)

The Washington State offense is starting to hum right along with de Laura at the helm. He threw for 399 yards against a solid Oregon State defense. Stanford is similarly solid, but as Arizona State showed, they can still be had. The receivers are on the same page as the quarterback now that the Cougars aren't switching snaps in practice and during games. Next for de Laura is cutting out the interceptions, but he doesn't throw enough of them to put a big dent in his score.

Devin Leary, North Carolina State ($6,000)

The Wolfpack are going to do most of their damage running the ball, but that's not to say that Leary can't throw. He has nine touchdowns and no interceptions over the last three games. Leary is improving his decision making and having a run game to lean on doesn't hurt at all. If Leary can put up 22.32 DraftKings points on Clemson's defense, I'm not afraid of anything that Boston College can throw at him.

Also consider: Bryce Young, Alabama ($9,000); Caleb Williams, Oklahoma ($8,300); Will Rogers, Mississippi State ($7,100); Skylar Thompson, Kansas State ($5,500)

DraftKings CFB DFS Running Backs

Breece Hall, Iowa State ($9,500)

The Cyclones haven't ridden Hall like they did last year, but he still has three consecutive 100-yard games and has scored at least two touchdowns in all of those. Hall is one of those backs that can do it all. He's a good blocker and good receiver along with being a great runner. He's always on the field when the game is close, which makes him a cash game mainstay.

Tiyon Evans, Tennesee ($7,700)

We had conflicting reports within 24 hours of Evans' status for this week. This ought to be fun. Evans says he is playing and if he is I want him in there. Ole Miss was gouged by Arkansas last week and Tennessee is fully capable of doing the same to them. If Evans can't go, we have Jabari Small, who is nearly as talented and is $3,100 cheaper. I like Small regardless of the status of Evans. If Evans is out, it could mean a big game for Len'Neth Whitehead. There is no shortage of backs for the Vols in this one.

Kennedy Brooks, Oklahoma ($6,800)

Brooks was a monster against Texas, putting up 217 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns. Eric Gray is still getting work on passing downs, but the Sooners have handed the keys to Brooks for most of the game with huge success. There should be more against TCU. What is usually a strong defense is not this year. TCU has allowed 206 yards per game on the ground, and that's with Duquesne only gaining 61 on them. There's a lot of points for the taking out there for Brooks tonight.

Nathaniel Peat, Stanford ($4,200)

Austin Jones is back in action for Stanford, but it appears that he is going to be mostly used on passing downs. Of course, it was hard to tell last week since Arizona State threw everything they had a stopping the run. The Cougars have been giving up chunks on the ground this year, so there is an avenue for success for both Stanford backs in this one. Jones is only $300 more, so if you think the Cardinal will be playing from behind, he might be a better play.

Also consider: Brian Robinson Jr., Alabama ($8,000); Deuce Vaughn, Kansas State ($7,100); Zach Charbonnet, UCLA ($6,500); Snoop Conner, Mississippi ($5,900)

DraftKings CFB DFS Wide Receivers

Jameson Williams, Alabama ($7,900)

When the chips were down last week, Bryce Young looked to Williams more often than anyone else. Williams came away with a career game, hauling in ten passes for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns. I'm intrigued by the volume, especially against a Mike Leach team. The Bulldogs are capable of scoring and we could see a lot of points put up again. Don't blame the loss on Williams or the passing game. They did prove that if it's a close game, Williams is the guy they are going to look to most.

Dontario Drummond, Mississippi ($7,200)

Jonathan Mingo will be out for Ole Miss again, which should mean more for Drummond. It didn't play out that way against Arkansas, but Drummond still found the end zone. He's the best bet among a talented receiver corps for Ole Miss in another game that could top triple digits in total points.

Marvin Mims, Oklahoma ($6,400)

Mims came to life when the Sooners handed the reins over to freshman Caleb Williams. Spencer Rattler was missing all kinds of throws and has missed Mims quite a bit this season. If the second half against Texas is any indication, Mims is still the best receiver on this team by a long shot. If Williams can and does get him the ball, especially on those long pass plays, Mims is going to put up some big games down the stretch. This could be one of them.

Elijah Higgins, Stanford ($6,000)

Tanner McKee was pressured a lot last week, but he still put up his first career 300-yard passing game. 110 of those went to Higgins. Higgins has two 100+ yard receiving games in the last three and has scored in all three of those games. He is the unquestioned number one with Brycen Tremaine out. Higgins has one of the more stable floors out there among receivers. Higgins is easily McKee's favorite target.

Taye Barber, TCU ($4,500)

Quentin Johnston is dealing with a knee issue and may not play. They may also be without JD Spielman again as well. We saw Xavier Worthy go nuts on the Oklahoma secondary last week. I can see a TCU receiver having a huge game. if one does, it will more than likely be Barber.

Advertising

Also consider: Makai Polk, Mississippi State ($6,900); Velus Jones Jr., Tennessee ($6,600); Travell Harris, Washington State ($6,300); Zay Flowers, Boston College ($5,500); Benjamin Yurosek, Stanford ($4,600)
