DraftKings College Basketball DFS Lineup Picks for 3/5/22 - CBB Daily Fantasy Advice

TyTy Washington Jr. CBB DFS lineup picks NCAA daily fantasy college basketball

We have made it to the last weekend of the regular season, and our Saturday is a monster! We've got 13 games on the main slate and 11 on the afternoon. Many teams are jockeying for conference tournament or NCAA tournament seeding. We start off with LSU hosting Bama, and it promises to be more entertaining than the football game. Tennessee hosts Arkansas, Georgia Tech hosts Boston College, Louisville hosts Virginia, and Butler brings in Villanova to finish of the noon tips. An hour later we get Auburn hosting the Gamecocks and Syracuse hosting Miami. An hour after that we have Purdue hosting Indiana, West Virginia hosting TCU, Clemson hosting Virginia Tech, and Florida State hosting the Wolfpack. We end the main slate with Seton Hall coming to Omaha to play Creighton.

The afternoon slate starts at 3 Eastern with Oklahoma State hosting Texas Tech and Arizona State hosting Stanford. Missouri hosts Georgia a half hour later. At 4 we have Oklahoma heading to the Little Apple, Kansas hosting Texas, and Wazzu hosting Duck U. 5 Eastern brings DePaul to UConn and Cal to Tucson. We end the afternoon slate with Ole Miss hosting Vandy, Baylor hosting Iowa State, and Duke hosting North Carolina. We can't ask for a better day that this to close the regular season!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 3/5/22 starting at noon Eastern. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Early Slate:

Dereon Seabron, North Carolina State ($8,400)

I'm not paying a premium for Kessler nursing a shoulder injury or for Notae, who was atrocious against the Vols earlier this year. I'll go with Seabron. Even though his consistency has been a huge issue, the last two duds were against Wake and North Carolina. That's forgiveable. Seabron ravaged the Noles in the first meeting, putting up 52.75 DraftKings points in 34 minutes. He's probably not dropping 32 points again, but the strong peripherals and 20 points will still get us to 40. I also love Terquavion Smith if you're looking to stack the NC State backcourt.

Justin Moore, Villanova ($7,200)

Moore is one of the most consistent players on a team full of them. The lows don't seem to be the same for Moore as the rest of the team. He has at least 20 DraftKings points in all but one game since the restart. His best game of the season (aside from the opener against Mount St. Mary's) came against Butler when he put up 38.75 DraftKings points in just 28 minutes. The ceiling is probably higher for a few other Villanova players, but Moore's consistency has me going back for more.

Kadary Richmond, Seton Hall ($5,900)

Bryce Aiken's concussion is serious enough that his senior season is officially cut short. Richmond has been putting up good numbers in the absence of Aiken, including 31.75 DraftKings points against Creighton a month ago. Richmond hasn't been under 20 DraftKings points since and we get him at a nice discount here. I'll be heavy on Richmond today.

RayQuan Evans, Florida State ($4,600)

Evans has seen a precipitous jump in playing time thanks to injuries to Cam'Ron Fletcher, Caleb Mills, Matthew Cleveland, and Malik Osborne. Both Cleveland and Mills might be healthy enough to play, but the Seminoles are still going to need the scoring from Evans to make up for the loss of Fletcher. Aside from the total disaster against Boston College in which Evans fouled out in 22 minutes, he has at least 25 minutes and 15 DraftKings points in every game since January 20. He's a safe value play today.

Also consider: Jaden Ivey, Purdue ($8,300); Kameron McGusty, Miami ($7,900); Mike Miles, TCU ($7,400); Xavier Johnson, Indiana ($6,800); Jordan Miller, Miami ($6,600); JD Davison, Alabama ($6,100); TyTy Washington, Kentucky ($5,800); Anthony Polite, Florida State ($5,700);Kyle Sturdivant, Georgia Tech ($4,100)

Afternoon Slate:

Michael Flowers, Washington State ($8,300)

The Cougars are playing well right now and Flowers is a big reason why. He has 127.25 DraftKings points over the last three games alone. He's pouring in points at a ridiculous pace, but it's the peripheral stats that give Flowers a floor worth paying for. There's a lot of volatility at the top of the guards today. I'm going to save the money and the volatility and run with Flowers instead.

Nijel Pack, Kansas State ($8,000)

Markquis Nowell is out and Oklahoma is one of the worst teams defending the perimeter. The way to beat this team is with the three ball. Pack is the best volume shooter, but it was Mark Smith that went berserk on Oklahoma the first time around. Pack went for a strong 28.5 DraftKings points in the first game against the Sooners. I'm betting on him to be the standout for K-State today.

Tanner Groves, Oklahoma ($6,400)

Groves shone in March last year. I'm buying in again. He has 69 DraftKings points over the last two games alone. It's not coincidence that the Sooners have won both of those games. They still have an outside shot at the NCAA tournament. If they are going to make that run, Groves will be at the center of it. He's a reasonable price for the numbers that he is capable of putting up. However, due to the volatility of Groves this year, I would recommend him for GPP only.

Adonis Arms, Texas Tech ($5,500)

Arms is putting up really good numbers and DraftKings is finally catching up. Arms has at least 24 DraftKings points in six straight games. His ceiling isn't super high, but are we really going to complain about 5x value in a college lineup? Didn't think so. His scoring is up and the peripherals are as strong as ever.

Also consider: Scotty Pippen Jr., Vanderbilt ($9,700); Caleb Love, North Carolina ($8,200); Kario Oquendo, Georgia ($7,600);Tyrese Hunter, Iowa State ($7,300); Jordan Goldwire, Oklahoma ($6,500); Jay Heath, Arizona State ($5,300); Selton Miguel, Kansas State ($3,600)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Early Slate:

Oscar Tshiebwe, Kentucky ($9,900)

Tshiebwe turned in one of his two 60+ point games against the Gators this year and in the process shut down Colin Castleton. So you know which way I'm leaning at the top of the forward chain today. Only Tennessee and LSU have held Tshiebwe under 30 DraftKings points (by 1.75 points combined) in conference play. I'm not worried about Florida shutting Tshibwe down, but expecting another 60 is a little too ambitious. He should at least flirt with 50 though and his price is back under five figures.

Jaylin Williams, Arkansas ($8,600)

Williams is the only Arkansas player that has proven to be matchup-proof. Williams has put together seven consecutive double-doubles against the likes of LSU, Kentucky, Florida, and this same Tennessee team. In what was a forgettable game for the other nine starters on the court in that Tennessee game, Williams put up 41 DraftKings points. His team only scored 58 points the entire game! The peripherals give Williams the safest floor of anyone on the slate.

Arthur Kaluma, Creighton ($5,300)

The Blue Jays routinely run eight deep, but an injury to Ryan Nembhard has moved O'Connell into the backcourt, leaving room for Kaluma in the starting five or sixth man role, depending on the game. Kaluma has at least 20 DraftKings points in all but one game since January 26, so even when Nembhard was in the lineup, Kaluma was putting up good numbers. He doesn't have much of a ceiling, but 25-30 minutes and 20 DraftKings points (give or take) for the price is a good deal.

John Butler, Florida State ($4,600)

Butler hasn't been all that consistent filling in for Osborn, but a lot of that has to do with matchups. They don't get any better for Butler than against North Carolina State (at least statistically) in conference play. This game has ceiling potential for Butler, but his inconsistency leaves him for large field GPP use only.

Also consider: Jabari Smith, Auburn ($8,300); Tari Eason, LSU ($8,000); Ryan Kalkbrenner, Creighton ($7,400); David Collins, Clemson ($6,800); Bourama Sidibe, Syracuse ($4,800); Caleb Daniels, Villanova ($4,700); Darius Maddox, Virginia Tech ($4,000)

Afternoon Slate:

Brady Manek, North Carolina ($8,100)

Manek is finally starting to heat up. He has at least 30 DraftKings points in 10 of the last 12 games. One of those was against Duke when he put up 31.5. His hallmark is great shooting, but Manek is also a solid defender and crashes the boards. I don't see a huge ceiling here. Banchero and Mathurin have the higher ceilings. However, they appear to be bigger risks.

Advertising

AJ Griffin, Duke ($6,900)

Griffin has at least 24 DraftKings points in five straight games. His minutes seem to be relatively consistent and so is his production. I really like Griffin at this price compared to his peers in the Duke frontcourt. All of them are much more expensive. They have the ceilings (in theory), but having a couple of guys in the lineup with great floors can win you a GPP.

Mouhamed Gueye, Washington State ($6,100)

The inconsistency is frustrating as hell, but Gueye is the type of player that can win you a GPP. He struggled against Oregon in the first meeting, but Gueye has really hit his stride lately. He has 114.25 DraftKings points in the last four games alone. Of course, those were against Washington and Oregon State. However, we saw a more aggressive Gueye, especially on the offensive end of the court. His defense and rebounds remain consistent. If he can keep the scoring up, he'll be a steal once again.

Davion Warren, Texas Tech ($5,100)

Texas Tech spreads their production around quite a bit, but Warren has been on fire of late. He has 93 DraftKings points over the last three games. It seems like the Red Raiders like what they are getting out of him right now and played him 31 minutes against Kansas State. The minutes haven't been all that consistent, but I'll ride this hot streak at this price. Texas Tech will run him until he cools off.

Also consider: Bennedict Mathurin, Arizona ($8,500); David Jones, DePaul ($7,800); Bryson Williams, Texas Tech ($7,200); Javon Pickett, Missouri ($6,300); Moussa Cisse, Oklahoma State ($5,700); Kimani Lawrence, Arizona State ($5,400); Aljaz Kunc, Iowa State ($4,600)
