Happy Thursday gang, and happy birthday to me! I wouldn't want to spend it any other way than researching a DFS afternoon slate. We have an eight-game slate on our hands this afternoon. This will be an important slate to keep up with the weather, considering how the past few days have gone. I'll do my best to update before lock if there are any weather concerns with the guys I have listed below. Let's get right to it!
This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/12/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also check out today's FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. It’s also important to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. If you have any questions or comments, contact me on Twitter.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
Brandon Woodruff - MIL @ CHC ($10,200)
We start with the best pitching option on the slate. Woodruff comes into this one with a 3.09 xFIP on the season. We all saw what Corbin Burnes did to the Cubs last night, and it's not that far-fetched that Woodruff could repeat the performance. Now, I'm not saying he will strike out ten consecutive hitters, but seven-plus innings and double-digit strikeouts? Sign me up.
Marco Gonzales - SEA vs TEX ($6,700)
Marco isn't going to light the world on fire in any of his starts (unless it's against the Dodgers), but he's in a good matchup today against Texas. The Rangers have a woeful .303 wOBA + ISO against left-handed pitchers in the last 30 days, and were shut down my Tyler Anderson last night. I like Marco's chances of duplicating that performance at a solid price.
Other Options: Chris Bassitt ($10,000), Tanner Houck ($8,700)

DraftKings DFS Infielders
Omar Narvaez - C, MIL @ CHC ($4,300)
Narvaez has been an underrated hitter for the Brewers this season. He's got a solid matchup today against Kyle Hendricks, who struggles against left-handed hitters. Hendricks has taken care of the Narvaez in previous matchups but I see Narvaez winning the battle today.
Matt Olson - 1B, OAK @ CLE ($5,500)
Olson is in a solid matchup today against Eli Morgan. Morgan gives up hard contact to lefties 46% of the time, and Olson hits right-handed pitchers hard at a 45.8% rate. Oakland looks to be in the best position as a stack today, and Olson should fit right in.
Hoy Park - 2B/OF, PIT vs STL ($2,300)
We have just a small sample size on the recent-debuting Park, but he does seem to see left-handed pitchers well despite being left-handed himself. He's cheap and he'll likely be leading off, and his 2.382 wOBA + ISO against southpaws is promising, despite it coming in just four at-bats.
Kyle Seager - 3B, SEA vs TEX ($4,400)
Folty takes the hill for Texas this afternoon, which opens up a cheaper stack opportunity with Seattle. Kyle Seager leads the way, with a 48% hard-contact rate against righties.
JP Crawford - SS, SEA vs TEX ($3,600)
Crawford is one of the more interesting players in the Majors. I saw him come up in the Phillies organization, and I expected huge things. He didn't put it all together to reach his "top prospect" potential, but he's a solid big leaguer nonetheless. He doesn't mind hitting against Folty either, as he's got two homers in sixteen at-bats against him.
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Mitch Haniger - OF, SEA vs TEX ($4,500)
Mitch Haniger is one of the more underrated players in baseball, a .260 hitter with 25 long balls this season, he's been leading the charge to a playoff push in Seattle. He's got a 40% hard contact rate against righties this season, and although he hasn't fared well against Foltynewicz in the past, I expect the M's to handle business today.
Starling Marte - OF, OAK @ CLE ($5,800)
Oakland's trade deadline acquisition has benefitted the A's as they've been hitting the ball all over the place of late. Marte has been in on the party with a 43.1% hard-contact rate against righties. The results have shown as well, as he's got a .628 wOBA + ISO to pair with it.
Anthony Santander - OF, BAL vs DET ($2,600)
Santander has been on a tear over the last week, amassing at least five points in six of his last seven, and hitting three homers in his last two games. He gets a great matchup today against Matt Manning, look for him to keep the train rolling.
