DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (8/7/21): MLB DFS Lineups

It's a fairly reasonable DraftKings Saturday in MLB. The Jays and Red Sox have another double dipper, so there are 16 games today. There are five early games that my colleagues here at Rotoballer will get you ready for. I'm gearing us up for an 11-game prime time slate on DraftKings. This is a big one for a Saturday with plenty of good options!

We have very slight chances of rain in Cleveland and Atlanta, but nothing that will interrupt the game for an extended period of time, if at all. The wind will be blowing out to right in Houston, but considering it's supposed to be really humid, I'm guessing the roof will be closed anyway. It's going to be hot and sticky in St. Louis for the I-70 series. That looks to be the best hitting weather of the night, followed by Milwaukee and Cleveland.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/7/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also check out today's FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. It’s also important to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. If you have any questions or comments, contact me on Twitter.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Brandon Woodruff - MIL vs. SF ($9,900)

Woodruff hasn't been as strong as he was earlier in the year, but that's not to say he's been bad either. The Giants offense is still beaten up and is only hitting .231 in the month of August so far. Again, not the end of the world, but when you're facing a guy like Woodruff, you at least want to be entering the game going strong. The Giants mustered just one run against an inferior pitcher to Woodruff last night. I like the potential here.

Eli Morgan - CLE vs. DET ($7,400)

You may think I'm nuts, but there are some strong pitching options that will be overlooked on this slate. Morgan will be one of them. He has allowed three runs or less in each of his last four starts, but still has a 6.75 ERA. Homers continue to be a problem, but he held the Jays to two runs his last time out and struck out nine in six innings. The kid is learning how to pitch. We saw Cal Quantrill lock up the Tigers offense last night. Morgan has the ability to do the same with more strikeout upside.

Other Options: Julio Urias ($10,500), Charlie Morton ($9,400), Shane McClanahan ($8,500)

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Elias Diaz - C, COL vs. MIA ($4,000)

Diaz has hit four homers in his last seven games and gets a lefty that has  a 6.70 ERA in the majors this year. The Rockies offense beat up this pitching staff last night, including their best pitcher. The Marlins left Alcantara out there for 10 runs before finally pulling him in the fourth. Luzardo could face the same fate and you can bet Diaz will be front and center.

Joey Votto - 1B, CIN vs. PIT ($6,100)

It's hard to pay over $6,000 for a hitter, but Votto is absolutely worth it right now. He has reached base safely in 27 of his last 28 games. In that span, Votto is hitting .320 with 12 homers and 30 RBI. He has been even better over the last ten games. Votto has nine of those 12 homers in the last ten games with 19 RBI and 11 runs scored. The Reds offense went nuts against last night against a horrible Pittsburgh pitching staff. If Votto slows down, it wont be against this team.

Mookie Betts - 2B/OF, LAD vs. LAA ($6,400)

Having Mookie eligible at 2B is almost not fair, but you have to pay a pretty penny for him. He is 3-for-6 with a homer in his career against Jaime Barria, but that's a really small sample size. Let's just look at what he has done of late to tell you why he's worth this price. Mookie is hitting a ridiculous .475 with six homers and 11 RBI in the last ten games. Nice, right? Add in the 17 runs scored and he's a DFS All-Star. 17 runs in 10 games! That's all the analysis you need.

Asdrubal Cabrera - 1B/3B, ARI at SD ($2,600)

Hey, if we're paying up for Votto and don't want to skimp on pitching, we need some value in our lineup. Going after Yu Darvish provides a respite from the high prices and provides a sneaky good stack. Darvish has a 5.07 ERA in his last ten games and this Arizona squad has pounded him during the course of his career. It's not small sample sizes either. Cabrera has nine hits in 24 at bats with two doubles, three homers, five runs scored, eight RBI, and two steals. His base stealing days are likely over, but Asdrubal is hitting well of late anyway. There's reason to think he can keep that going.

Carlos Correa - SS, HOU vs. MIN ($3,900)

It can be hard to take past numbers seriously, especially with a team like the Astros, since they may or may not have been stealing signs (among other things). Even taking into account recent numbers, this is a strong spot for Correa. He is hitting .297 over the last ten games. His past numbers against Michael Pineda are nothing short of great. Correa has 11 hits in 20 at bats with four doubles, three homers, seven runs scored, and five RBI against Pineda. Most of the Astros have hit Pineda hard, but Correa really stands out and he's really cheap.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

George Springer - OF, TOR vs. BOS ($4,600)

Springer is hitting .425 with five homers, 12 RBI, and 11 runs scored in just the last ten games. He has averaged 12.3 DraftKings points per game in the six tilts against Boston this year. Springer isn't your typical leadoff hitter because he doesn't steal bases, but he will sure score a lot of runs in a dangerous lineup like this.

David Peralta - OF, ARI at SD ($2,800)

I mentioned the struggles of Darvish earlier and how well Arizona has hit him in the past. Peralta is another one of those BvP warriors tonight. He is 5-for-13 with two homers, a steal, and three RBI against Darvish and opens up a lot of other options with his price this low. If you're stacking Arizona, Kole Calhoun and Ketel Marte should be planted firmly on your radar as well. They have both homered against Darvish before (Calhoun has done it twice).

Yadiel Hernandez - OF, WAS at ATL ($2,500)

This is a park that favors lefties, and this lefty comes in riding a nine-game hitting streak since the Great Washington Fire Sale of 2021 gave Hernandez an every day job. Hernandez is hitting .484 with two homers, seven RBI, and seven runs scored in that stretch. He is entrenched in the heart of the Nationals order right now and is a very cheap shot to take at Charlie Morton, who has allowed 10 runs over his last four starts. That's struggling for him.

DraftKings DFS Stacks

  • Cincinnati Reds vs. Mitch Keller
  • Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Jaime Barria
  • Colorado Rockies vs. Jesus Luzardo
  • Sneaky Stack: Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Yu Darvish
