DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (1/27/21): NBA DFS Lineups

Steph curry NBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball advice

Wednesday’s have carved out a niche on the NBA landscape as being chock full of action, with 12 games at our disposal this time around. An early-season favorite matchup returns in Brooklyn-Atlanta to tantalize fantasy managers, but the more pertinent question is: Will we see offensive output matching their Dec. 30 (286 points) or Jan. 1 (210) contest?

When it comes to pinpointing production based on projected totals, Wednesday is actually quite the balanced slate. Only Detroit/Cleveland and Oklahoma City/Phoenix have points totals set under 220, while only the aforementioned Nets and Hawks have exceeded the 228-mark. Domantas Sabonis, Russell Westbrook, and D'Angelo Russell are the three biggest names to keep an eye on for later in the day, as their presence or absence in the lineup should swing each team’s DFS intrigue considerably.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/27/21. You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks. With COVID-19 a significant factor globally, remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before line-up lock.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Stephen Curry - PG, GS vs. MIN ($9,300)

It may be low-hanging fruit to point out that one of the sport’s all-time greats is a strong DFS play Wednesday, but Curry’s dominance of Minnesota is worth highlighting. When the two teams squared off Monday, Curry went for 36 points in 34 minutes, knocking down seven threes, marking the fifth time this year he has gone for at least 35 in the scoring column.

The T-Wolves’ defense has found itself easily exploitable this year, having delivered the fifth-lowest defensive efficiency (110.5) while yielding the fourth-most PPG (116.7) on a nightly basis. It’s become clear that the Golden State offense goes as Curry goes in 2020-21, and if a combined 21 made triples in his last four games is any indication, he’s chugging along pretty well at this stage.

Cole Anthony - PG, ORL vs. SAC ($5,500)

Entering play Wednesday on the heels of a career-high 21-point performance his last time out, Anthony’s price point puts him directly into consideration as a cash play option. Having played at least 31 minutes in each of his last three outings, Anthony has gotten acclimated to the starting PG gig in Orlando, having shot 76.9 percent from behind the arc over his last four games.

In addition to his stable role, he also matches up against the Sacramento defense, which has allowed the most DFS points per game to opposing PGs, per DK scoring. De'Aaron Fox has amassed a staggering 119 dRTG across his first 16 games, paving the way for Anthony to be featured in a multitude of lineups.

Joe Harris - SG/SF, BKN @ ATL ($5,700)

For all of the (much warranted) hype that has surrounded the Nets’ All-NBA trio of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving, Harris has proved in short order to be a much-needed sharpshooting asset to the starting five. He has taken at least seven threes in each of his last seven games, shooting 44.8 percent from long range in that span.

Earlier this season, Harris was aggressive early and often from deep when facing Atlanta, drilling six threes on Dec. 30. The two teams played to 286 points in that first meeting, an indication of the track meet that could be in store when they take the court for round 3.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Brandon Ingram - SF/PF, NO vs. WAS ($8,000)

Washington’s defensive woes to this stage have been well documented, positioning Ingram as one of many Pelicans to have increased scoring upside Wednesday. After a recent seven-game stretch of scoring between 17-24 points, Ingram dropped 30 his last time out, attempting 20 shots for just the third time this year. With the Wizards’ playing at a league-high pace (107.3), more looks are within the cards, which propels Ingram toward GPP consideration.

Cameron Johnson - SF/PF, PHO vs. OKC ($4,800)

No Devin Booker (hamstring) for Phoenix means ample shot opportunities have opened for the remaining Suns starters. In the case of Johnson, he has seen his minutes allotment increase in each of his four games among the starting five, having set new season highs with 16 field-goal attempts and 11 threes launched in his last outing.

Saddiq Bey - SF/PF, DET @ CLE ($3,400)

The absence of Blake Griffin (rest) puts Bey in play as a punt play option. During his four starts this season, Bey has averaged 11.5 points and five boards across 27.5 minutes per contest, whereas as a reserve, he sits at just 6.3 points and 2.8 rebounds on a nightly basis.

Jerami Grant figures to dominate much of the offense for Detroit without Griffin in the mix, but Bey has the ability to hit value by playing alongside the starting five and packing the stat sheet.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Andre Drummond - C, CLE vs. DET ($8,400)

The former Pistons All-Star faced his former team for the first time in his career back on Dec. 26. The result? A whopping 23 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, four steals, and three blocks that was emblematic of everything about Drummond’s game that has made him a terror for opponents to try and corral. While he may not reach the 44-minute plateau again, he’ll undoubtedly be up for competing against his former organization, looking to return to his double-double ways after kicking off the year with 12 such performances.

Additionally, Detroit’s struggles with containing opposing centers has been well-documented. Yielding the fourth-most DK points (58.1) on a nightly basis, while producing the sixth-lowest defensive rebounding rate (76.4), Drummond appears on track for open season on the glass versus Mason Plumlee and Co.
