Happy Friday RotoBallers! As usual, we have a jam-packed Friday night slate, filled with some juicy matchups. These articles focus on the overall best plays, which are typically more suited for cash games. However, with larger slates like this one, you don't have to worry about ownership getting steamed up too hard usually, so consider these suggestions GPP viable as well (some exceptions may apply).
This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 1/28/22. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome new NBA injuries report tool as the slate can completely change before lineups lock.
As always, feel free to follow my Twitter (@Maxadelphia), to keep up to date with NBA news and for my nightly NBA bets if you're into that sort of thing. Let's go!

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks
LaMelo Ball - PG/SG, CHA vs LAL ($8,400 DK, $8,600 FD)
Ball (and basically the whole Hornets team, really) went OFF against the Pacers on Wednesday. Ball posted a triple-double and a 69 point fantasy night on extremely efficient shooting (11-16, 3-4 from 3), and next up is the Lakers and their dead-last defense against opposing PGs. Ball is an LA-area native, and admitted Lakers fan, and he must find some extra internal motivation when playing the Lakers. In the small sample size of 2 career games, Ball averages 25.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 9 assists per game against his childhood squad.
Will Barton - SG, DEN @ NO ($5,500 DK, $6,300 FD)
Barton has been producing well as of late, with 120+ combined DK points in his last 3 games played. On Wednesday he popped off for 21/10/4 against the Nets, resulting in 47 fantasy points. Even if a matchup @ New Orleans is much less appealing compared to Brooklyn, I am not quite sure why Draftkings decreased his price by $300. I doubt I'll be attacking this game as a whole, but Barton feels like a great one-off as a mid-range pricing option.
Malik Beasley - SG, MIN @ PHX ($3,800 DK & FD)
D'Angelo Russell left Thursday's game against the Warriors early with a shin contusion, and with Patrick Beverley already out with an injury, someone is going to have to step up to fill those backcourt minutes. I think most lineups will gravitate towards Jaylen Nowell, but when Russell missed time earlier this year, it was Beasley who was the biggest beneficiary. If you're looking for a cash play, Nowell is probably a touch safer, but for tournaments, Beasley feels like the right play to me.
Others to consider: Kevin Porter Jr. ($6,400 DK, $6,200 FD), Malik Monk ($4,500 DK, $4,900 FD)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks
Jayson Tatum - SF/PF, BOS @ ATK ($10,100 DK, $9,700 FD)
Riding with Tatum as my stud forward choice again, because the top of the forward pool tonight is not great. Boston's offense seems to run exclusively through he and Jaylen Brown, so we figure the volume will be there. The Hawks are 23rd in defense against SFs, and last time these teams met in November, Tatum posted a 35/9/5 stat line, so he is certainly capable of posting a big fantasy score in this specific matchup.
Terance Mann - SF/PF, LAC @ MIA ($4,000 DK, $4,200 FD)
With Marcus Morris Sr. out for personal reasons, Mann has stepped up in the last two games. With fantasy scores of 33 & 20 in those two games, Mann should once again have no problem returning value. In 16 games as a starter this year, Mann averages 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game, which would get him over the 5x value needed to justify the play.
Ben McLemore - SG/SF, POR @ HOU ($3,500 DK, $3,800 FD)
McLemore shapes up to be one of the best value plays on the slate tonight. With Nassir Little being ruled out for the rest of the season, and recent addition to the rotation, CJ Elleby, also listed as out for Friday's game, McLemore figures to see a bulk of the minutes off the bench. If you play DFS, you know that the Rockets are always great to attack due to their crazy high pace and bad defense. On top of that, a little bit of #RevengeGame narrative here as well; with McLemore reviving his career in Houston in the 2020 season.
Others to consider: Anthony Edwards ($7,900 DK, $8,000 FD), Norman Powell ($6,100 DK)
DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks
Anthony Davis - C, LAL @ CHA ($9,800 DK, $8,900 FD)
With no LeBron James (knee) in the lineup for the Lakers on Thursday, Davis posted one of his best games of the season; 31/12/1 with 4 blocks, for 59.5 DK points. The Hornets have consistently produced some of the highest-scoring games in the league this year, and even if LeBron does return tonight it seems unlikely that the Lakers would use him at the same absurd rate they have all season. It's not often the #1 scoring option for a team in a projected game environment like this is under $10k, so I like my chances with The Brow tonight.
Bismack Biyombo - C, PHO vs MIN ($5,800 DK, $6,300 FD)
Biyombo might end up as the chalkiest play I recommend today, but I simply can't leave him off the preview. With legit 40-50 point upside, against a team on a back-to-back, in a game with a 230.5 points line, I'm having a hard time poking holes in the spot for Biyombo tonight.
Others to consider: Nikola Vucevic ($9,600 DK, $8,700 FD), Bam Adebayo ($7,500 DK, $8,000 FD) Jeremiah Robinson-Earl ($3,800 DK, $4,200 FD)
