DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (5/3/22): Today's Top NBA DFS Lineups

Happy Tuesday, RotoBallers! We've got a pair of crucial Game 2s on the schedule for our DFS slate. Both road teams, Milwaukee and Golden State stole home-court advantage with a couple of hard-fought dubs against Boston and Memphis. The home teams will feel the pressure and believe they have to win this game if they want their series to go long.

The Celtics couldn't shoot the ball much worse if they tried, and Memphis was a Ja Morant lay-up from overtime. Whatever the outcome, I can't wait to watch both games and see how all four teams adjust to what they saw in Game 1.

AWAY HOME O/U SPREAD TOT (A) TOT (H)
MIL BOS 215.5 -4.5 105.50 110.00
GSW MEM 227.5 2 114.75 112.75

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/3/22. Remember to monitor the NBA injury report as the slate can completely change before lineup lock at 7:00 pm Eastern. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jordan Poole - PG/SG, GSW at MEM ($6,900 DraftKings; $7,200 FanDuel)

The Warriors won three titles and went to five consecutive NBA Finals in the 2010s. Now, they have the luxury of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson having 'okay' evenings, but the knowledge that a third guard is right there to pick up the slack! That's precisely what Jordan Poole did in Game 1 as the third-year guard popped up with 31 points, nine assists, eight rebounds, and five triples in 38 minutes. It's looking like the Lineup of Death 2.0 right now for the Warriors, and Poole will continuously get open looks with the Splash Brothers on the court. His $6,900 price tag feels light on Tuesday.

Desmond Bane - SG, MEM vs. GSW ($6,700 DK; $6,400 FD)

Whereas Golden State can have a couple of their main guys not firing on full throttle, the Grizzlies need everyone at 100 percent if they want to topple this veteran team. Unfortunately, Desmond Bane didn't have it in Game 1, but I'm betting that was a blip rather than the new norm, as the second-year guard showed us what he could do in the Grizzlies' Round 1 win over Minnesota.

Desmond Bane: 2022 Playoffs Splits
Split Pts 3PM FG% 3P% DK PPG FD PPG
R1: Games 3-6 27 5.8 52.1 53.5 42.75 41.15
R2: Game 1 9 1 30 20 15.75 16.7

One thing to watch is Bane's health. He is currently listed as questionable with a back injury on the injury report. While it's hard to imagine him sitting out Game 2, it's certainly worth monitoring the pre-game comments to indicate how Bane is feeling heading into this must-win contest for Memphis.

Others to consider: Ja Morant ($10,100; $10,400), Stephen Curry ($9,100; $9,700), Jrue Holiday ($8,300; $8,400), Klay Thompson ($7,000; $6,600), Tyus Jones ($3,800; $3,900), Derrick White ($3,800; $3,900)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Giannis Antetokounmpo - SF/PF, MIL at BOS ($11,400 DK; $11,200 FD)

My lineups start and end with Giannis Antetokounmpo tonight. There's not another player in the pool with the floor or ceiling of the two-time MVP. You can try to fade him, but you'll have to hope for a blue moon simultaneously. Antetokounmpo is averaging 27.8 points, 13.3 boards, 7.2 assists, and 1.5 steals during the playoffs. Don't overthink this one. Start Giannis and enjoy the points. Oh, and watch this replay one more time.

Jayson Tatum - SF/PF, BOS vs. MIL ($9,800 DK; $9,900 FD)

'Oh, picking the second most expensive forward on the slate. Reallll original.' Well, thank you. I thought so too. I think Tatum will be incredibly overlooked relative to his talent, as the public narrative seems to be all Milwaukee right now. Yes, Boston didn't do themselves any favors in Game 1, but we can't just forget the type of player Tatum showed us he is in that first round versus Brooklyn. The fifth-year forward outplayed Kevin Durant (yes, I said it) and was the catalyst for the 'green' sweep of the Nets. In 41.7 minutes per night, Tatum scored 29.5 points, 7.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 3.3 triples. I haven't successfully formed a lineup with Tatum and Antetokounmpo in it together, but it sounds like an excellent contrarian pairing in tournaments on such a small slate.

Others to consider: Andrew Wiggins ($5,700; $5,900), Grayson Allen ($4,700; $4,800), Otto Porter Jr. ($3,700; $4,100)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Brandon Clarke - PF/C, MEM vs. GSW ($6,000 DK; $6,100 FD)

People still haven't caught on to the Brandon Clarke show. That's fine by us as we will continue to use him and profit in DFS. Jaren Jackson Jr. had a monster performance in Game 1 (52.0 DK points), but it was the first time in seven playoff games where he collected less than five personal fouls. I hope he stays out of foul trouble for the sake of this series and basketball in general, but the odds would seem to be in Clarke's favor. The key to Clarke's DFS points would seem to be his shot attempts. In the 2022 playoffs, when he shoots nine or more times, the third-year center averages 38.8 DK PPG. When he doesn't reach that mark, his average sinks to 29.3 DK PPG. With Triple J more likely to be in foul trouble than not, I'll grab Clarke at a slight discount and see how the refs treat Game 2.

Al Horford - PF/C, BOS vs. MIL ($5,800 DK; $5,600 FD)

I won't go as far as to say Al Horford is the key to this series, but he's been effective when given an extended look this postseason and should continue to get big minutes against Milwaukee. The veteran of Boston's playoff rotation, the versatile forward has notable results when playing at least 30 minutes in the postseason. He's reached that mark in three of the Celtic's five matchups and averages 39.1 DK PPG. With Boston's injuries, they will need to rely on dependable players to help them claw their way back into this series, and Horford is an under-the-radar way to support that mission.
