We have a smaller five-game slate tonight and we are in the final days leading up the All-Star break. The first half of the season has been great, so let's end it on a high note.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 1/2/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider
Connor McDavid - C, EDM vs DET (FD - $9,100, DK - $8,000)
The Oilers are seriously struggling right now, but McDavid is still getting it done from a fantasy perspective nearly every single night. Tonight, he is facing off against the Red Wings who are eighth worst in the league in high danger scoring chances allowed per 60, sitting at 11.47. The Oilers should really be winning this game and McDavid should be a large part of that with him being on the first forward line and the first power-play unit. He is in play for cash game any time he is on the slate, but don't see him as a must-have on this five-game slate.
Jordan Eberle - W, NYI @ CHI (FD - $5.700, DK - $5,900)
Eberle and the Islanders should be one of the most popular teams on the slate tonight and they should be solid for both cash games and GPPs. They are facing off against the Blackhawks who are seventh worst in the league with at 58 Corsi Against and giving up 13.61 High Danger Scoring Chances per 60, which is dead last in the league. Chicago has been a team to pick on all season and we aren't going to be stopping just a few days away from the All-Star break. Eberle is on the on the first forward and the first power-play unit for the Islanders, which should make him very chalky.
DFS Defenders to Consider
T.J. Brodie - D, CGY vs CAR (FD - $4,300, DK - $4,100)
Love the cheaper price tag on Brodie tonight, who is up against the Hurricanes in a game where the over-under is set at 6.5 goals, meaning we should be in for plenty of offense tonight. He is on the first defensive pairing and the second power-play unit for the Flames, which should make a very viable GPP stack tonight since we are looking at a very fast paced game. Brodie has five points in his last four games and is averaging over one shot and blocked shot per game this season.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson - D, ARI @ OTT (FD - $5,000, DK - $5,000)
OEL seems a bit too cheap considering the Yotes are up against the Senators who are dead last in the league when it comes to Corsi Against, meaning they are giving up a ton of shots. He is up on the first power-play unit, which is a really, really nice stack tonight since they are so cheap overall. He comes in with a three-game point streak, which isn't amazing but could very easily be continued tonight versus this weak Ottawa defense.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Robin Lehner - G, NYI @ CHI (FD - $8,700, DK - $8,300)
The Islanders are -140 road favorites, which should make Lehner a solid option on tonight's smaller five-game slate. Cash games are tougher on a slate this size, so if you are willing to roll with only tournaments tonight, Lehner should be added to your player pool. He has allowed three or fewer goals in 12 straight starts, which is simply amazing and should continue versus this weak Chicago team.
