NHL is back after the All-Star break and we have a smaller three-game slate tonight. We'll be back into the full swing of things with larger slates, but a nice way to get the action going with what should be three solid games.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 1/31/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider
Mika Zibanejad - C, NYR @ NJ (FD - $6,700, DK - $6,500)
Zibanejad and the Rangers are facing off against the Devils who come in with a 58 Corsi Against this season, which is seventh worst in the league, presenting plenty of upside for shots tonight. The Rangers got shutout in their first game after the All-Star break, so they should be looking to rebound against their divisional rivals tonight. Zibanejad is on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, which should give him plenty of opportunities tonight to score.
Wayne Simmonds - W, PHI @ BOS (FD - $4,500, DK - $4,400)
Simmonds is set to be a trade target come to the end of February, so a few more strong games from him and he should be able to increase his overall value. He is playing on the third forward line, which isn't great, but he is up on the first power-play unit for the Flyers, making him a solid value play tonight. Should really only be used in a stack if you are looking to play tournaments tonight.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Jacob Trouba - D, WPG vs CLS (FD - $5,100, DK - $4,800)
Trouba is up on the first power-play unit for the Jets since Byfuglien is still out for a few more weeks. He is moderately priced across the industry and is cash game viable tonight with his nearly two shots per game, along with two blocked shots per game. We have a smaller slate tonight so if you want to spend up on the Jets first power-play and take a stand on them in tournaments, he is a solid option.
Damon Severson - D, NJ vs NYR (FD - $4,200, DK - $4,200)
Severson has been pushed to the first power-play unit for the Devils and was able to score in their first game after the All-Star break. The Devils should be a very popular team tonight since they are up against the Rangers, who are the second worst in the league when it comes to Corsi Against and sixth worst in the league when it comes to the number of high-danger scoring chances allowed per game.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Henrik Lundqvist - G, NYR @ NJ (FD - $7,800, DK - $7,300)
Lundqvist has already been confirmed as the starter for the Rangers tonight, who are only +115 road dogs against the Devils. They clearly have a chance to steal this victory which would make him a great point per dollar play, based on how affordable he is across the industry tonight. The Rangers are second worst in the league when it comes to giving up shots, so this means he will be under pressure all night, but also gives him plenty of scoring potential due to the extra saves.
