NHL is back! We have a nine-game slate to look at tonight and we are starting to get a few games into the season, so we should be able to start looking at some more stats soon. Personally, I like Corsi For, which is an advanced shot metric shot which can help identify offensive opportunity.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/13/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider
Ryan Johansen - C, NSH vs NYI (FD - $5,700, DK - $4,800)
Johansen is a bit too cheap across the industry tonight considering the matchup and his role in the offense. He is up on the top forward line, along with being on first power-play. He has nine shots on goal and two points through their first two games. The Predators are up against the Islanders tonight, which should be a fast-paced game with scoring.
Alexander Radulov - W, DAL vs ANH (FD - $6,400, DK - $6,900)
Rostering Radulov is a great way to get exposure to the Stars top line without paying all the way up for Benn or Seguin. Radulov is also on the first power-play which should give him some nice upside, as he has looked great to start the season with seven points in just three games.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Jeff Petry - D, MON @ PIT (FD - $4,400, DK - $5,000)
Petry isn't a player I look to for his offensive upside, but rather his floor of points. Last season Petry was known for always playing a solid amount of ice time and chipping in with some shots and blocked shots. He is on the first defensive pairing for the Canadiens, which means he will be on the ice plenty to counter the Penguins top line.
Victor Hedman - D, TB vs CLS (FD - $6,500, DK - $5,800)
Hedman is someone you want to be playing for their offensive upside since he is on the top defensive pairing and on the always dangerous top power-play unit for the Lightning. He is simply too cheap on DraftKings tonight and despite the fact he doesn't have a point yet this seaosn, he shouln't be passed on tonight.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Antti Raanta - G, ARI vs BUF (FD - $7,700, DK - $7,400)
Raanta comes in as a -137 favorite at home and isn't too expensive tonight. He is facing off against the Sabres, who have an implied goal total set at 2.58, which is the third lowest on the entire slate. He has 20 or more saves in two of his three starts this season and the Sabres come in with one of the lowest expected Corsi For (total shot attempts) so he won't be in too much danger.
