The Friday slate will offer some good offensive matchups, most notably with the San Jose visiting Toronto, and Washington visiting Vancouver. The lowest total of the night will be in New Jersey, as the Coyotes visit on the second night of a back to back against one of the league's worst offenses.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/25/19. The picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @Roto_Nate.

DFS Forwards to Consider
Auston Matthews - C, TOR vs SJ (FD - $8,400, DK - $7,700)
Matthews has been a ghost for the Leafs in their last three games, and if you caught his postgame rant after the loss to the Bruins, he isn't happy with his and his teammates' play. I expect him and his line to come out firing tonight against a Sharks team coming off a big 4-2 win over the Canadiens last night.
Brock Boeser - W, VAN vs WSH (FD - $6,900, DK - $5,800)
Boeser hasn't had the start he was hoping for this season, only managing 12 FanDuel points per game, but he is too talented to stay this quiet, and he could have a coming-out party tonight against a Capitals team that does give up goals in bunches and is coming off a tough comeback loss to the Oilers last night. I would worry that Ilya Samsonov has been lights out in the Capitals' goal, but he is due for regression and Washington will have some tired legs in the final game of their Western Canadian swing.
Also, Consider:
- I won't play the narrative street card too many times as it doesn't always work out, but former Leafs always manage to stick the dagger deeper in Leafs Nation's heart when they return to Scotiabank Arena, and I will be interested to see if Patrick Marleau adds to that narrative tonight.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Alexander Edler - D, VAN vs WSH (FD - $5,400, DK - $6,000)
The Washington Capitals are top-10 in the league with approximately 9 PIMs per game, and the powerplay is where Edler does a lot of his damage. Couple this with a possibly sloppy Capitals team as mentioned above and Edler could be due for a big night. He has been rolling lately, averaging 16.5 FanDuel points per game over his last five.
John Carlson - D, WSH vs VAN (FD - $7,300, DK - $7,100)
It is hard to ignore the way that Carlson is playing right now, a pace not seen since the days of Paul Coffey and Bobby Orr. I could see an argument for fading him tonight at the end of the Western Canadian swing, but the Canucks are second in the league with 11.7 PIMs/game, which is simply too many powerplay opportunities for the elite first unit of the Capitals. Carlson is averaging 25.3 FanDuel points per game over his last five, and he should have plenty of man-advantage opportunities to add to his totals.
DFS Goalie to Consider
Antti Raanta - G, ARI vs NJ (FD - $7,500, DK - $7,500)
Raanta only has two games this season, as the Coyotes ride the hot hand of Darcy Kuemper, but in his last start, he stopped 34 of 36 shots against a weak Ottawa Senators team. He receives another weak matchup in this game, as the Coyotes visit the Devils, who rank 28th in the league with 2.38 goals per game. After getting beaten by the Islanders last night, I like the Coyotes' chances of bouncing back and getting the victory in this game.
Also, consider:
- Anders Nilsson has been a rock in Ottawa's goal crease this season, stopping 34, 41, and 52 shots respectively over his last three starts. He also gets to face an Islanders team on a back-to-back coming off a big win over the Coyotes. This could be a letdown spot where Ottawa steals a victory, but my only issue would be the mediocrity of the Senators could let Nilsson down as two of his last three starts have been 2-1 losses.
