FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (12/8/18): Daily Fantasy Hockey

We have an eight-game slate to break down giving us plenty of options to look at tonight. There are a ton of high-priced skaters you want to be rostering tonight and plenty of games with high over-unders, so could be in for a slate with inflated scores.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 12/8/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Mika Zibanejad - C, NYR @ FLA (FD - $7,000, DK - $6,000)

Zibanejad and the Rangers are coming off their bye week, so hopefully, they are well rested and ready to take on a weaker Panthers team, who are middle of the pack with a 55.91 Coris Against. Zibanejad is on the top forward line and the first power-play unit, so the ice time and opportunities will be there for him, as he is taking 3.25 shots per game. His pricing on FanDuel tonight seems a bit better, considering who is around him on DraftKings.

Tanner Pearson - W, PIT @ OTT (FD - $4,500, DK - $3,600)

Pearson is very cheap across the industry and gets you exposure to the Penguins, in a game where are up against the Senators, which has a SUPER HIGH over-under set at seven goals. That is a level we rarely see, so basically, you NEED exposure to this game. Paying up for Crosby and Malkin is always ideal, but sometimes you need to find a way to be different while still rostering players on that top team. The Senators come in with a Corsi Against of 68.55, which is dead last in the league, making this the ideal spot to attack.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Noah Hanifin - D, CGY vs NSH (FD - $4,000, DK - $3,600)

The Flames top defender, Mark Giordano is suspended for two games, so we should/could be seeing Hanifin move up from the second power-play unit to the first one. This is not yet confirmed since we need their most recent practice lines, but good chance this happens. He is very cheap across the industry and gets you exposure to Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau on the top power-play unit.

Mike Green - D, DET vs NYI (FD - $5,000, DK - $5,300)

Green and the Red Wings are actually looking pretty decent right and with his price being very modest across the industry, you should be able to fit him in most lineups. He comes in with seven points in his last seven games and 15 shots in that span. He is up on the first power-play unit, giving him plenty of upside to build, especially with this matchup versus the Islanders, who are giving up nearly three goals per game.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Thomas Greiss - G, NYI @ DET (FD - $8,200, DK - $7,300)

Greiss is priced much better on DraftKings tonight, so look for him over there. He is facing off against the Red Wings and since we are dealing with a slate where there is no true cash game goalie, it could be a nice time to take a risk in some GPPs. He is -110 on the road, which is some decent odds, so he could come away with the win against a Red Wings, who is not great but getting better. He only has two wins in his last five starts, but his price opens up a lot on DraftKings tonight.
